It's amazing how much more 'TVR' it looks with more vibrant/ unusual colours, and tinted headlamps.

I know it was a long time ago (20+ yrs) but this harks back to the first DB7, svelte when launched, but growing ever larier in evolution. Must admit, I love the stance of that white one.

Now we’re talking, that looks spot on.
Hints of Speed 12 in the bonnet smile
Again I think the wider wheel arches have a big impact if you're looking for street presence.
This get's me excited, it's what I'd expect for a TVR

Maybe Gene Simmons or George Lucas can invest...

It was a mistake visiting here frown

All I can say is, if there are enough of us that want these changes, there will be quality companies prepared to invest in the tooling. I know the handling and top speed will be affected, but at the end of the day, perhaps Les has taken it as far as he can and we will just have to take the last few steps ourselves.

£30-40k I reckon to get it resembling the white one (probably only need 10 like minded individuals).
Didn’t Les say he was going to put up some renders on the TVR website for the Depositers to look at../..consider../..give feedback..?!

I think that was a hint at some of the final design ‘sign~off-options’.

Clearly they’re taking onboard the comments & feedback..thus wouldn’t surprise me whatsoever if we get the opportunity to choose a ‘seriously lairy pack’..

Wider arches
Splitters
Bonnet vents
Fixed BIG wing
Super fat tyres
Aggressive grill

Ooooh yessss PLEASE Les...bring it on...nutsnutsnuts

It's equally likely that this is just the game producer doing what it does.

Are similar mods available in the game to other otherwise standard road cars?

I'm sure I read somewhere that Les had a bit of a battle on his hands with GMD just to get the width increased by 2" for the prototype. Must admit though, that white car looks really good - a true TVR

Depends. It has turned into an industry and there are multiple aspects to consider. While the games are fun, the rationale behind it clearly is not:

https://www.fastcompany.com/1669990/how-do-real-ca...

edit:

I'm sure the contracts some of the game producers have to sign, especially with the big car producers, are nasty stuff. In return they sometimes get exclusive models or other benefits. This is hardcore-marketing, not an afterthought. Sometimes they shell out high-end models exclusively produced for games to showcase stuff and raise brand-awareness.

Yep. A bit more blister or flare to the arches makes a massive difference, ( think it looks a bit slab sided currently ). A few more vents helps too. To my mind a wheel with a bit of dish really helps, ( the black rims on the demo car are shocking ).

I appreciate the flat floor/aero requirements might dictate the ride height but currently the car really lacks "stance".

Whilst it can hardly be considered market research its noticable that these latest images seem to have received instant thumbs up from the majority which is quite a contrast to the reaction the standard car suffered..

Deffo go to launch with an " R " spec option or similar...

I was told that the black wheels on the demo car where the wheels used for moving it around originally.

As the show wheels didn't go down well, they fitted them and most people said that they liked them as they thought that they suited the car. I don't.

I think you have to look at this logically and rule out options and see what we are left with. Options are as follows-

1) Large Private investor- there were rumors of foreign investment but this is going to require serious £££s and cannot be described as anything other than high risk. Due to large numbers and risks involved there are very few individuals out there.
2) VC investment - The problem is that its essentially an old school business with an old school product -( thats its attraction to us but not to a VC!). A VC would almost prefer to invest in a drone that carries people from a to b even though they know the chance of success is slim.
3) Merger with a larger company- you need to instantly rule out any companies where the new TVR might be considered to be a competitor to their existing range or even not fit with the brand image- that rules out lotus , aston etc etc
4) Merger with a small company - this is a distinct possibility but slightly scratching my head as to who would be a good fit and not currently struggling- it would also involve a radical change in the overall business plan.
.
...or 5) some rich bloke (or girl) decides they want to see the car succeed, want to drive one, fancies a dabble in the car industry and maybe hope to make a bit of cash too..but not with the same focus on a return as a 'proper' VC investor. Apparently the Pythons has no cash for Life of Brian and George Harrison stepped in to finance it as he wanted to see the movie - often told as the most expensive cinema ticket in history. So who might have lots of cash, a petrolhead, and who might want a new TVR to scoot about in and wants some fun in the car business?

...but I'm still betting on some sort of Ford connection...
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2018/11/02/in...

Britain’s richest man - check
...is considering building cars in the UK - check
...in Wales - check
...with Ford engines - check

now after that it goes a bit cold as it looks like Land Rover style stuff, but remember Peter Wheeler started doing the Scamander after TVR. so a bit of heritage here too.

So who's heard of the Ineos as a car brand? Not many I'd guess. Might be a smart move to to create the automotive operation with a name with a bit of British heritage. So an Ineos (branded TVR) 4x4 mass produced in Bridgend, and a halo-model TVR sports car to get the profile raised?

Just sayin...

Somebody needs to let Jim know that Land Rover have a new Defender on the way before he tosses all his money down a dark hole.

The new one will be nothing like the old one, just a variant of existing models aimed at the fashion conscious. I guess using the old name will get more people buying?
I've got a Series 3 and I'd bet the new one will be worlds apart from it, and about £50k more..

He lives a couple of miles away from myself..spent an absolute fortune developing his coastal property..pretty much next door to Mark Knopfler (although not sure if he sold his property as was up for a "considerable sum"..). Very successful chap !!!

Perhaps some shared facility would make sense. Whether you are knocking out a sports car or a 4x4, a lot of processes are the same.

Just saw this on the Autocar website about the V8 engine and its impending doom. I've always liked Andrew Frankel's reports.
