From this,

shouldn't we comparing the Griff to the 'mercedes-benz sls amg black series' (in white)?

IMO the Merc is immense (check out the Shmee videos of it at Goodwood FOS) - but the Griff is offering the potential to top it!!!

Les, Please feed us something over the Christmas break to retain interest (any fend off the bay sayers) smile
Hopefully, they are arguing about what direction they should take the car. TVR isn't Bristol, so good luck if they are going to trade on Britishness and Hand built.

Even Bristol know they need to be more accessible to survive.

I have never bought into the gentleman's club of Bristol, but that is alright.

I predict when the final look of the LE is revealed, there will be a revision of forecast sales.

Like I've said before, the LE is a bit of a bargain if it's great, but that is a huge gamble, if it looks like the Stormtrooper, it will be a hit regardless of its dynamics. Les is a businessman first and foremost, he cannot ignore the factors that will help shift units.

Question is, if realistically it’s 18 months to 2 years off, how many are just going to give up.

Agreed. I can only speak for myself but if it looks like the white one - I will wait. If it looks like it does now, I’ll be asking for my money back - 2 years is too long to wait for something that will be archaic in performance and looks compared to ev and the likes of Porsche/Ferrari.

Surprising that this news wasn’t given out to deposit holders first so they get it secondhand - if at all.

The white one is the Le Mans version, the original gurning is for the LE people. I’m guessing. Remember what was said 200 pages back: the more staid the styling, the wider the market for it teacher

Some of the comments on that article, from what appears to be reasonably informed people (i.e. in the industry) doesn’t make for pleasant reading frown

Agreed.

I believe most of us have our fingers crossed behind our back and a smile on our face when we discuss the coming of the new TVR with the less informed. This gets more and more difficult as time goes by.

As said before, the longer the wait, the more the opposition develops, restrictions and further omission reductions are put in place and the window of opportunity ever closes.

Stuff needs to happen right now. Two more years is a long time. By then we could probably buy a 1.5L Focus Cossie hybrid with 450bhp on tap for £40K, you never know.

Agreed. TVR needs to get cars (some not all) on the road next year, or I think the moment may have past.

Have to agree. I'm getting to the point that i think two years away is to long. The last update and lack of follow-up on the "big news" hasn't helped. They were doing quite well of not over promising but I held off asking for my deposit back based on waiting to find out the news. With still no big update it makes me nervous that any big plans may have fallen through. Obviously pure guess work but just the way I feel.

This is the problem with their poor PR and people starting ideas in people's heads!

Nice to see the chat in here doesn't change.. Same people.

I'm probably the only person here who would be happy to give Les another 2 years IF the griffith gets a massive steroid injection. Otherwise, my kids could be getting a nice Xmas pressie from my returned deposit bonus.

Given the lack of THE update, or indeed anything from TVR themselves at all, I'm beginning to think this is all looking a to be a bit of a white elephant.

And there was all the twaddle here about what colour the hub caps would be... pffft !
