I feel we are almost friends now! havent been on here for a while but it seems that the christmasTVR lights for deposit holders are starting to come on! The realization that deposits arent safe, lack of funding, potentially no factory/ delays for 2 years etc etc.My personal opinion is Les wont let deposit holders lose out and i have a hunch he will foot the bill. But i fear in the short term the reality is that the company only has a few hundred k in the bank and not enough funds to return to deposit holders. In short they are in a pickle and it gets worse day by day. When you get the national news picking up on things its really bad! Oh and where is the big announcement?! - There isnt one!Well i think there is but its not the one everyone is expecting.

Crunch time will be when/if a contract is placed on the refurb. It’ll be the first public domain sign that there’s a defined serious amount of £ being stumped up.

Until then let’s console ourselves with going on about the pros and cons of details on a non existent model....

I hope there will be an option to replace the space invaders dashboard with conventional dials. The centre panel is OK, but I don't like the main dash panel
this. analogue instruments are so much better to read, and look better, esp. with ignition turned off. instruments are the pinnacle of car interiors.

I'll get you a "told you so"-shirt when this thing hits the wall. And i'll have a "no risk no fun"-one for myself.

At this point in time anyone considering sticking a deposit down would look online and see the caution and doubt - not just here but everywhere.
Would they then go though with it?
On the TVR side would they accept a deposit? Legally they can as they’re currently trading. Morally though?

All this (again) due to lack of clarity, comms, updates or whatever.

I’m having real difficulty now defending TVR to friends and others who just laugh at the whole situation that’s unfolding, and looking pretty stupid (not difficult) for having been so ardent in support over the last 2 years.

This is where we were 6 weeks ago and before the video of Schmee and Les.

So Schmee - what’s going on ??

In many ways it is the same speculation that followed the Model 3 Tesla, but deliveries start next year to Europe. They had no factory, lack of supply chain, scaling issues etc etc.

Anything that is not in production always looks more risky.

Tesla did have the funding I guess?

It's completely and utterly different. Tesla were making and selling the Model S, the Model X was on line and it's a public company with assets (in 2017) of $28 billion! TVR is an idea with one car, no balance sheet and nothing much else apart from a few million quid of other people's money that has already been spent.

Oh, and the Model 3 is already on the roads here (USA) and has been for a while.

Billions of $'s I would imagine from investors keen to get in early on the electric car revolution in a potentially massive market, as opposed to those maybe not so keen on a gas guzzling V8 petrol engine car in a niche market from a previously failed car manufacturer in the same niche market.

First electric cars appeared in 1834, the first v8 in 1903, so the V8 is much more modern and innovative biggrin

Hi 'rep smile

I know you had a couple of nice TVR's (One caught fire in your drive, I seem to recall), when you lived in God's own county

Just as a matter of interest, if you lived in the UK now, knowing what you know, would you put 5k of your hard earned down for the new car?

You still have not answered my prior questions..?
The reason...
Because you know nothing !
Everything you come out with is guesswork and idle speculation.
Please stop and get on with playing with your Lego.

So in order to state this you presumably know what the actual situations is then, so please tell.

If not, which I guess is the case, your view is no more valid than anybody else's and this is an open forum, so stop trying to stifle the aspects of the debate you don't like.
