New TVR still under wraps!

So this video from deposit holder Schmee is interesting and sums up the car market at the moment. i wouldnt like to be in his position of a ford gt and senna arriving in the same month and financing them both! There is a delivery senna on the market at list and ford will make you sign a contract to keep it for 24 months . All well and good in the old world where these things made money- but not now! His amgtr will have cost circa £165k plus ugrades and a high mileage one is worth no more than £125k . The 675lt has dropped over £60k this year alone. All in all , I fear he could get himself in a pickle and even if a tvr did arrive soon it would be a problem. With his amount of viewings on youtube i estimate his income at circa £250k max a year even with extras! i wouldnt like to be the finance company! My point is the car world has turned and everything is in free fall - The new TVR was an ambitious project even in a good market! And still no news!

What's with the concern about everyone elses financial standing? First the 5k the depositors have with TVR and now with Schmee - his whole business model revolves around these using cars to make money. Putting up videos of his 1.2 litre Fiesta is unlikely to be as lucrative, though his up front costs would be a tad lower. Plus money is cheap as chips, its never been more easy to make money through leveraging financehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5ESKpi2eyc

And your really well qualified and drive a Skoda Yeti! god help me !
For a start, the yeti is the wife's. Secondly you still don't give any indication of your cars. And finally, 70+ posts in 8 years, most slagging off tvrs. You know this was, is and always will be a tvr friendly forum so why? Do you get kicks from being lambasted?m4tti said:
Any real man who spotted a rover 825 in a fellow pistonheaders garage wouldn’t be mocking, he’d be offering to hunt the barstewards down who sold it to him and beat them with a sock full of dog earthers
The 825i was all my doing M4tti. Bought it back in the day at an auction for 900 nicker when I was a pup and it introduced me to the world of barge! Edited by m4tti on Monday 17th December 17:48
It was a stefest, but had a great engine and gearbox and got me and a couple of pals round Ireland on a lads holiday to the Emerald Isle.
Was a rare sport model; resplendent in Jewish Racing Gold paint and a full body kit.
Halcyon Days.

Same old
This ridiculous offering reminds me of the type who knows only half of something so makes up the other half and embellishes it to make it suit some point he’s making as though it’s 100% deeply considered fact. The reality is even the stuff he thinks he knows is just conjecture anyway so the end result is fantasy built on bugger all. fatbutt said:

I can remember my dad test driving them as a potential company car.
My musings on a TVR Christmas carol to lighten the mood (decided against commentating on some of the individual battles going on in here)
...to the tune of ‘Chris de Burgh’, a spaceman came traveling. Hope you like
Les Edgar came travelling on his ship from afar,
seems light years of time since the Russian’s depart.
And over Ebbw Vale he halted his craft,
And it hung in the sky like a car, a T-V-R...
He wanted a factory and came down to a shed,
Where murray and cosworth were lying there in a bed,
Spectraflair silver shone around his head,
the car had a face with no menace, depositers-were-scared...
Then Les Edgar spoke, he said "Do not fear,
Your cars are still coming, production is near,
And I bring a message for PH’ers to hear, "
And suddenly the sweetest music filled the air...
And it went La La La La (insert overlay of raucous V8 Sound track)
V8’s and high octane fuel, Long live T-V-R...
This lovely music went trembling through the ground,
And many were wakened on hearing that sound,
Porsche's all over, all humbled they found,
By the rear of that car from a shed, Griffith-is-reborn...
And just before dawn at the start of a car meet,
Les Edgar returned and said "Now I must drive,
When ten thousand posts of this forum are done,
TVR is returning to Lemans, vict’rys in the air...
And it went La La La La...
This song will begin once again, Long live T-V-R
And it goes La La La La.. Peace and goodwill to Ph'ers who love underbody-aero.
Oh the whole world is waiting, waiting to hear the song again,
There are thousands standing on the edge of the world,
And the car is moving somewhere, the time is nearly here,
This song will begin once again, Long live T-V-R...

In a world where theres nothing TVR left to talk about . Even the chat on the nose design or long awaited ‘big anouncement’ seems a thing of the past and not really relevant now. We could chat about rovers , yetis or mock each other . There’s nothing left now . Les if you are listening .. please say something , the children are bored !

I doubt if Les is remotely bothered about anything you have to say. Let's hear something positive from you.I agree it would be nice if more news was forthcoming, but Les explained in Shmee''s video the hoops they are having to jump through.
Will the Griffith ever get into production? Who knows?

If Les can’t make this work now no one will ever be able to in the future so this is the last hope of a car ever being made again with TVR on the bonnet.I agree it would be nice if more news was forthcoming, but Les explained in Shmee''s video the hoops they are having to jump through.

I’m sure we would all ‘do it differently’ but the lack of updates of any kind is pretty bad so it would good to end the year on a positive note with some news from the man.
I agree with the above but unfortunately the truth is probably very simple, there simply isn’t any new news and therefore there isn’t an update as yet.
I as many no doubt, predict some sort of end of year update with a sketchy few paragraphs regarding the problems they are having but with little actual progress.

How do you know that? Someone might design a TVR more people actually want to buy. This forum started as a TVR forum and loads of us are put off buying one by the looks.
They might make one that looks better or is at a different price point. They might also be better at getting and keeping orders with advertising and communication.
They might have bigger pockets or be more aware of EU bidding rules etc beforehand.
This won’t be the last TVR made, this is just the latest chapter.

Hold up.. TVR badge on bonnet. Where have I seen that recently I’m sure we would all ‘do it differently’ but the lack of updates of any kind is pretty bad so it would good to end the year on a positive note with some news from the man.
