Someone on Faceache put up a caption asking if the new Tvr is just another Deloren,,, it’s getting embarrassing but who was to know Brexit was going to be handled so badly by the pathetic government. Er, remind me, its so long since I heard anything new........

Ok I’ve come to like the concept of the car, would love to see it produced for the public but it’s just not cutting the mustard for me and many others with a passion for Tvr is how I see it. Sadly without a promotion team it’s just a lot of bad publicity as at every stage the blokes promises have been broken.
For me and I reckon plenty of others regardless of the loud mouth brigade on here ready to attack anyone with a different view are just so dissapointed these promises appear to have been made up as they have failed on every level, I’ve been to the so called new factory, it’s a poxy square box simple Ind building that won’t take 5 mins to sort out,,,, and not expensive in the scale of things, if they rely on foreign aid ( EU ) money then what a waste of time this lot are!
They should have never taken deposits without firm backing and actual funding in place to at least produce the depositors cars, stinks of desperation and a distinct lack of actual investment.
BUT and it’s a big but, many people have invested a few quid in this, Tvr lovers mostly as it appears upto this date as they have no investors other than the depositors it seems to the untrained eye which is rather disappointing but we have to look at the bigger picture as in Brexit is causing such division who in their right mind would invest in Britain when are politicians make such a f
k up over the job, investment has simply stopped happening until we sort this mess out and I assume Tvr are subject to the exact same conditions and constraints so even though I personally think the new Tvr team have let down a community of Tvr lovers badly with hollow lies ( my guess) I’m still like everyone else hoping they can come through this period and get the car to market. But frankly it’s taking far too long and I’m long since bored of it and this thread. About 5 people contribute on here,, says everything.
But not to be negative I wish them well and just hope some of Lez words actually mean something. Wasting money on racing and putting the Tvr name on a race car that has nothing to do with Tvr is poor form, sharing the champagne then 6 months later there’s no money left jeez, how desperate, I thought the bloke had money and influence!
For my personal safety and mental well being I better say not one more word, that’s how it appears if anyone says anything other than it’s great on this s

I only put a pic of my 20 year old car up to show what new TVR are up against, my ancient engine that’s only mildly fettled gets me to 60 mph in 4 seconds,,, maybe old Tvr are a better investment than this new car, GM did his job, not sure about the stylist but he did the hard bit so what’s holding them back other than no money.
It just makes me look back at the distant past when Tvr was the only Brit car company doing something exciting and boy does it give me respect for all that they tried to do back then in a few broken down sheds.

Not sure what the laughter is for V6? If it is just a put down, why? If it is just because you are a happy bunny first thing in the morning then fair enough.
Alun just put down some words from the heart and are probably the same thoughts that most people have. Promises were made and broken. Unfortunately not a lot has been said why. I am sure that there are a lot of problems and reasons why the car hasn't been produced but I think it only fair to the deposit holders and possible future TVR owners to tell it how it is in a realistic manner, (without the full managerial details, that would be silly ). We know it is difficult out there,
Personally, I love the look of the car, it has all the right ingredients without looking overly lairy. Would I buy one? Yes, if it was available right now but unfortunately it will be a while and circumstances change.

An honest reflection of how most of the deposit community feel, I would wager and based on personal reflection rather than ill informed ranting (which is what I have found irritating).
I for one will certainly want to see an uptick in activity from TVR in 2019.

I've been watching this thread from the sidelines for the last few years. Firstly, my bet is that the prognosis is not good for TVR, too many signs of trouble, and at this rate the ICE will be outlawed before the Griff reaches customers.
Is Les reading this thread, of course he is. This place used to be a TVR forum. It is likely to be the largest online TVR community in the world. If he (and/or his team) aren't reading this then that is a serious lack of business acumen.
Les, if you're reading, two things I implore you to do:
1. Become a member of PH, and contribute to the bloody thread!! You are probably (rightfully so...) very wary of being lynched, but these people on this thread are one of the keys to if your business works, or fails dramatically. These people, in most instances, want TVR to happen, some may be able to HELP you make it happen. If he is reading, and if (by some miracle) take me up on the suggestion then please all, show some restraint. Don't be a lynch mob against him, worthy of him reaching for the Whiskey.

Again, consider minor tweaks to how you could make the existing look more cohesive, EG different coloured inners to the headlights, or additions to the gob hole. I get that you have shown the car, this is what customers have bought in to, but consider - BMW, Mercedes and Audi are some of the worlds most successful car brands. Offering options has never harmed their business model.
Finally, all the best to TVR for 2019, please make it happen, if nothing more than to shut up all the naysayers on here!

..did you read the last update..?I haven’t - guess I must have missed it in amongst everything else.
What tangible updates were there (not including stuff about the EU tender process) - were there any hard facts (e.g. we have actually secured additional finance, we will be moving into the factory on ‘x’ date, with a refit completion date of ‘y’ and aim to be producing the first customer cars on ‘z’ date)?

The latest 'update' was a copy and paste of the previous one, mainly. There was some detail about the other directors which helped to fill the page.
But, in answer to your questions, the one word answer is no. The promised exciting news which we assumed was some serious investment or tie up with a major player is being promised again. The tender process for the factory refurbishment is complete and in the hands of the Welsh Government to get the successful bidder to start work in January. No more news on investment (again). Nothing said about the parts sourcing (previously at 75%) which I was hoping would be nearly complete so that cars could be produced at the other site prior to moving to Wales and get the show on the road.
