does anyone still think that the new TVR is actually going to happen? After all this time and talk?

I think it will happen, but I don't think Les will be pleased with the sales figures nor the depreciation if the production car stays true to the original. A missed opportunity. Come on Les, don't let me down! Don't cater for your age group, target 6 year olds!

I am of the opinion that it is now unlikely to happen. The "BiG" news seems to be delayed and it may turn out to be that the "BIG" news is that project has stopped. I think the car when unveiled had a chance but I think the momentum since then has been on a downward spiral. The market has moved on, Porsche, Aston Martin, Jaguar have all launched good cars since the reveal. Also since they announced the price 4 years ago can they really be making money now at that price? Exchange rate assuming most parts will come from abroad is not in their favor, throw in the downturn in the motor industry and the unknown of Brexit it makes it very difficult to see how Les can pull this off and make money.

The other issue is that no one has driven it yet, There have been no reviews by the press and any poor reviews could kill it right there, I would have liked to have seen the car reviewed and tested by a few deposit holders before the investment (if it happens) into a production facility in Wales.

If it was backed by some very very serious capital prepared to take a long term approach to their investment it may have has a chance but I don't think that is the case.

I have owned 3 TVRs and would have liked this to be my 4th but it won't be now although I never placed a deposit anyway.. I hope Les can pull it off and bring a crazy car to the market , I really do but as the weeks and months roll by it becomes more and more unlikely but good on him for giving it a bloody good go.

Maybe they can adapt their business plan and produce in smaller than planned quantities and get them on the road. I really want it to succeed. But it’s dragging. Excitement is minimal.

Driven what?

They haven't even sourced all the parts for the car!

Now we are talking. Make it like the blue one in the beginning of the video and you’d have me hooked.

a few pictures from that video and that great looking model,

I also borrowed that part out the video, to make it that model only video, which I will post in my next post.

The gormless mouth while so obvious on light/bright coloured cars, seems to blend in nicely on that dark blue. Black I imagine would be even better. I quite like that.

They’ve changed lots of aspects like the more flared wheel arches and the front diffuser also. The mouth looks less gormless because of the colour but also because the car is wider and designed differently.

There’s just a total lack of information from tvr. Most of this thread is based on information not actually released by tvr themselves. Utterly hopeless.

It’s bad when people are saying look it actually looks ok based on a car which has been altered for a game.

Or they’re saying they’d rather have the one in a game that looks very different to the actual car. (But they think the actual car looks great honest)

It's been 13 years since the last TVR was made.

It's been nearly 3 years since the "new TVR" was shown and 3 1/2 since they started to take deposits.

In an industry that now has to move very fast and spend huge sums of money just to keep up with technology that's eons.

For perspective the I-Pace concept car was first shown around the same time. That was a totally new vehicle of a totally different type to that which the manufacturer was making and one that required charging infrastructure to be developed and a full re training of the dealer network. I-Pace's are now on the road all over the world.

Meanwhile "new TVR" haven't even sourced all the parts for what is already an out of date design. I honestly can't understand how anyone still expects this not to end in tears.

I'm sure if this was presented on Shark Tank this guy...………...

…...would tell them to take it round the back of the woodshed and shoot it. (Which may be what a number of VC's have already done).
