It may be the worst post ever but it livened up the discussion. That page was on my work computer which does not allow pistonheads. The only way was to use my phone to photo and post. Unfortunately I could not see that it posted sideways. I'll also plead old and not computer savvy.
This is going to sound crazy... but you can actually get the internet on a mobile telephone now hehe

Amazing isn't it. And maybe sometime in the future you may get a new TV. But speed lI'm items may be out first.

IF the Griff LE is produced.
IF it's a big improvement aesthetically.
IF it has a speed limiter.
WHEN I drive it.
WHEN the alarm goes off.
WHEN will I hear it?
WHEN the officer asks me to switch the engine off.
TVR will always have teething issues.
TVR will have a known fault with their Speed Limiter.
TVR will have a recall regarding the volume and re-positioning of the warning light.
LES will send a reminder every year (regular updates) asking owners to return their vehicles for this critical safety issue to be rectified as only a handful of people have taken advantage of this rework.
LES will be the laughing stock of the sports car community for creating such an unreliable component as owners of other brands enjoy the feeling of driving legally at 2-3,000 revolutions per minute in their turbocharged beauties.
LES, just fking build the car before 2022 as I don't believe anything I have written - oh and fix the looks!

It may just be a case of...

"Speed limiter you say? No, we never got that email"

As far as the speed limiters go, if you read into it, there is nothing to stop a manufacturer from having an option to turn the limiter off.

It may be something you have to turn off every time you start the car or a temporary turn off for "overtaking only", but there will be ways around it.
There is also nothing to stop people removing the limiter or having the default settings changed etc...

It is all leading to driverless cars being the only ones sold from new by 2050 and all of this will only make classics more valuable.

All this talk of speed limiters, even if they do apply to low volume type approval, it's the least of their worries!

I think the speed limiter may be fitted already.

Yup - the speed-limiter on the new TVR is so effective that I don't think that that car has even been out on the public road yet ....

Interesting post on that page:

Richard Kitchen said:
I work around TVRs everyday, and run a business specialising in taking them apart, and putting them back together (eventually!) I've written a book about them. I own two at the moment. I speak to a lot of people in TVR circles, and do you want to know what the overriding theme is surrounding the new car? No? Well, I'm gonna tell you anyway. It's that the majority of people who have a dig, or who have only got negative things to say, aren't people who've ordered one. Overwhelmingly, the people who've placed orders seem to be patiently waiting, and understanding that the practical realities of building a new car can often differ from the technical planning. It's a mammoth undertaking. There will be delays, and if I was one of the lucky ones with a deposit on, I'd rather assume no news is good news, and that the team are putting their resources into getting my car built, not a PR exercise to appease people who've no intention of buying one. I've got a lot of respect for people who put their faith in this project, and I genuinely hope it works out for each and every one of you.

Well, that post got him a nice little flight in Richard Smith's helicopter to the new factory apparently.

"Richard Smith Richard Kitchen You Richard have just won yourself a ride in my helicopter to Wales - message Liz.satchell@tvr.co.uk with your details"

When? Obvious really - watch this space. hehe

Go on.
Somebody say it.

We're being taken for a ride already.

Go on.
I can't.
I'm a deposit holder.

Won't be as effective.

Blimey !! Thats got to be very reasureing (NOT!) For all those people who have been waiting for their new TVR Griff. What a dump.
You guys are being very patient with this nearly three years wait. I remember back when i had a TVR that the first new griff was "Expected" to be delivered mid to late 2018. Bl**dy hell,we are fast nearing mid 2019. What the hecks going on ffs. That design is going to be an old one before anyone gets it.What a complete Sham. News seems to have dried up from Mr Edgar aswell.

It’s so cringey... my eyes. It’s almost saville esque, all he needed to add was “young man” and “ows about that then” to close.

Translation:
“Wanna come out to the car park and see my chopper” hehe

wonder if that 'big news' had anything to do with the semi resurrection of the Circuit for Wales project -now evolved into an automotive facilyty test tracks, etc proposal. maybe that proposal s ongoing, on hold, going nowhere, waiting to happen. I do know the planning was extended.
https://www.blaenau-gwent.gov.uk/fileadmin/documen...

As per this article here.
https://www.walesonline.co.uk/business/business-ne...
November last year

because the TVR factory estate, is visible in the first aerial picture..

This graphic is from the OLD Circuit of Wales (defunct) proposal.. added so you can clearly see where the TVR factory building is.

that that would have been (would be?) exciting - track on doorstep.

No news from TVR, let alone 'big news' so the bored amongst us just speculate, (see above) or take a break and come back in a couple of months and see what is happening.
