Of course you are correct, and I respect your determination to own a TVR in Bulgaria.
I guess I am just worried about your budget, the difficulties and cost of importing, registration and insurance, and then maintenance.
Thank you for thinking of me I have sent an email explaining a little more to set your mind at ease. Oh BTW I do not like the MX5 and I do have my MGF as it is already. Only the one now having sold the other two.

Oh well just found out that one of the contenders has just been sold so that makes things a little easier. Now we just have to find out if the 4.3 is still on offer or not.

Update ..................

Decided against the other Blue 4.0L with the Canams so tried to get hold of teh Ocean Haze Mk1 that had been watching only to find outt hat it had sold last week for ................................................................... £8,350 bangheadweeping.

Oh well onto the next likely candidate. Have decide to go wiht the much given advice and go for condition and so are trying to make enquiries about a coupe that have had chassis refurbs or out riggers done not too long ago while keeping an eye out for other bonus upgrades have even been giving some thought to a black one with a nice red interior and even a silver one. Not my favourite colours but both had "things" that make them worth considering. Allowing for some budget creep a couple of nice sounding Chimaera's right at the afore mentioned budget of £15,000 would end up pushing the budget to possibly £18,000 plus by the time they were here. So sadly it looks like at least two of the 430's we found advertised are out of the picture now one is £15,000 and the other £14,550.

So it's back to looking for a nice 4.0L with clean chassis and extras if possible. Even wondered about a Wedge thanks to a certain un-named PHer who kept on about The Gredge. Trouble is I know less about the Wedges than I do about Chimaera's and being so far from any real tech support am not sure such a custom beast would be ideal.

With this in mind have just had a chat on the phone with the owner of a very likely candidate and will hopefully speak to the specialist who has been responsible for looking after it for several years now and the possibility of a pre purchase inspection report.

This seems to fit the main criteria.

And I have been watching it and mulling over the choices that green one was counted out of the running a while back but I still kept an eye on it. The 4.0L one that I am seriously considering even though it is painted in one of my least favorite colours has many bonuses that out weigh the colour like:-

Nitron dampers set up by Topcats - recently refurbished with Eibach road springs
Body off chassis refurbishment a few years ago
Engine heat shielding was relplaced
Fuel lines renewed
Braided brake hoses
Front brake upgrade
Refurbished dashboard with new wood veneer
Loom to fuse box renewed
Smooth bore induction kit

The owner is willing to drop it into one of the well known specialist for a pre purchase inspection though the verbal report was excellent. The inspection report will also include photos. Service history is excellent. We still have to agree the deal for the purchase and I hope that can be done this weekend with the proviso that the inspection report comes out as hoped. Then the workshop will sort the headlights for LHD and do a couple of other things I have asked about and prepare her for transport.

So fingers crossed.

Certainly keep an eye out for a good one but I suspect what might be out of budget now may be in budget in three months time

Update .......................... depending on the result of the pre purchase inspection being favourable the purchase of a 430 has been agreed. So now we just wait as the owner and workshop are arranging a suitable appointment for the inspection.
