In my case, when I did it as a kid between stops, the bus stopped straight away. Apparently this was the conductor's code to the driver to stop immediately.
Don't know if it was just a local arrangement but I never did that again.

You might be out of luck on point 1), it sounds as though glue is an integral part of the iStream process...
