Went to the theater on friday evening. Stood up before the movie started and announced to everyone "I was not there to see John but was there to see the CAR" really enjoyed the movie. Good plot and the CAR was the star of the show.

Yup, I'm imagining the reaction now. Unfortunately, all the words that I want to use to quote said reaction will just be converted into **** by Ted's smut-o-filter, so I'll not bother...

I think Jim's message was tongue-in-cheek (clue: in the last sentence "good plot". At least, I hope so!

How did TVR manage to get the Tuscan in the film - did that marketing fellow have something to do with it (top job if so) ??

Well i went and saw it last Night, the film itself is very good, one of Travolta's better films of late, The opening scene was amazing and yes the car was the star of the film, well for me anyway, not that i'm biased being English with a Tuscan on order or anything !! Yes it was a bit far fetched, arent all Hollywood movies in this day and age !! How many times have you seen an SUV keep up with a Tuscan, even if there was an American behind the wheel driving ! I especially liked the AKA "Almera GTI" scene........"Rubbish makes the car look good Guv" But i guess like anything else in life you'll just have to see it with your own eyes and make up your mind then !! TVR Went head to head with Ferrari and Lamborghini and the other top marques to get the Car into the Film, kind of like an Auction !! TVR finally won out against Ferrari and it seems to be paying off for TVR, they are getting a hundred or so mails a day from Americans with far too much money in there wallets to know what to do with it all !!!

Watched the movie last night at home on VCD. I have to say that the movie was very good with a good plot and Halle Berry in her underwear (mmmm....) but I can't see how anyone can claim that the car was "the star of the film" it was only in shot for about 3 minutes including the obligatory car chase where it couldn't outron a 4x4 and God knows how Travolta and Jackman were supposed to swap seats mid-chase the way the plot required. Still well done to TVR and Ben for getting it there, next stop(?) 007 with some deadly gagets (the light tubes really lend themselves to missile launchers). rgds Clive Reed Zertec Limited info@zertec.co.uk www.zertec.co.uk

I spoke to some very nice chap from the TVR factory at the docklands expo about that last week, he said the day after the film launched in the US, their mail system almost buckled under mails from septics asking about the car.

Heard that the reason the Tuscan was used was some good old family connections. I understand that someone at the factory has a very good link into Hollywood. That's the way it works, I suppose!

Grammar, "Septic Tank" or "Ham Shank" originate from English (Cockney) rhyming slang, "Tank" or "Shank" = "Yank" There is no intention of associating you with the contents of the said tank or the pig's leg. English people are sometimes refered to by Americans as "Limies" this is a reference to the fact that lemons, limes and other citrus fruit were used on British sailing ships to prevent scurvy (caused by vitamin C deficiency), not because the British motor industry used to build a lot of "Lemons" I also know why a hamburger is called a hamburger.... >>>John Travolta's new film Swordfish has been released in North America to mixed reviews. The TVR Tuscan Speed 6 used in the film has certainly made an impression though, although many cinema goers were under the impression that it was merely a show car and not a real car! <<<< Some Americans also think that England isnt a country just the language they speak... so i would worry too much
