RV8 Starter Motor - Maintenance?

Hello people of the pistonaphere.

I have the starter motor of Wendy at the moment. 3.5 Rover V8. It'll be off for at least three weeks while the new manifolds are coated.

Anything I can readily do 'on the bench' in the way of [worthwhile] maintenance?

Not had any issues with sticking or non-firing. Will be renewing the wiring to it as they are pretty cooked (manifolds go down and back on a 350i) and stiff. Plus it gives me a chance to route it better and shorten it.

But the motor itself?

If it works leave alone.
If you think the solenoid movement is sluggish then clean out any old grease that has likely hardened and re-grease with a light film of high temp grease.
