With FJ now. AF couldn't beat it this time. Best thing to do is get on the phone. be cheeky and pitch them all against each other. £98 limited mileage, kept at home in the garage, 46 years old, 4L Wedge. would you like to pay in installments ? er no will pay it now(:

Well Mannings were well off the mark at over £308 withough their extra £75 for European breakdown cover. So looks like FJ get the business.

Manning offer a high class service when you need them. They have insured Tvr at very competitive rates for a long time and I'm very happy with them!
When I had a problem with a crushed front corner hehe they acted really fast, I was able to take the car to one of the respected Tvr body shops and have the car completely disassembled and re sprayed totally. I've also had a windscreen replaced and again Mannings were happy for it to be done by a Tvr specialist at considerable cost. My premium is still very competitive considering the claims!
I'm trying to be more careful now biggrin

300 nicker for a car capable of such destruction is still cheap when you think about it thumbup

Depends on your income surely! £300 to someone on £30,000 P/A may be cheap but £300 to someone on £300 P/A is an awful lot. Plus as I have no intention of destroying anything with the car that is irrelevant. Usually my insurance is for me to use the car legally on the roads not having made a claim for many years it is in reality another form of tax.

I'd not made a claim for 30 years, it's Insurance against the worst that can happen at the end of the day.
In my experience which is only one mans view, when called upon Mannings were excellent.

Im sure your aware but do inform your insurance company of any mods you do. After market shocks, brakes etc just to be safe. thumbup

I'm sure I read you've added new Bilstein shocks, as they are a standard fittment to the car you have no issue there,,, not cheap but very good so I've been informed.
Pity you've had to do that before driving the car but sounds like good preventive medicine.
Expensive though.
Enjoy smile

Ah, the monthly question about where to get the best insurance.

It seems as though the cheapest insurance must be the best...

yes

....and my cheap insurance did not work out for me. The old saying, 'you get what you pay for ' comes to mind.

Agreed the Bilstins were not cheap but when the man who did the inspection says the originals look tired I recommend new shocks. Well I gave it some thought priced them up then phoned him up and had a chat about it then ordered the new shocks to be delivered to the garage for fitting followed by geo set up. Paying for an inspection then ignoring the recomendations seemed a little daft to me. Will see about having the originals rebuilt.

The only mods that we are doing is losing the plug extenders and fitting new leads with insulation socks as there is no money left in the TVR kitty for ECU's etc. The kitty took another bash when I bought a spare set of 16" Spiders ...................... JIC. Still have to buy a fire extinguisher as they are another legal requirement here and of course the LHD headlights.

Did baulk at a new roof but he said it's at 7/10 the roof will have to wait.
