First time owner checking in byebye (Had never even sat in a TVR until I bought this!).

Properly bonded with it on the 100mile drive home, what a car. They are just phenomenal, this is a Starmist Blue 400 with biscuit interior (I can only begin to imagine what a 500 is like!)

I am in love cloud9

It's in fantastic nick, a real credit to its previous owner! 52k, every stamp in the book, serviced yearly. Interior, roof, paint in superb A1 condition. I am truly smitten with it.

Outriggers are original (but no holes!) will need doing in the next 24months.

I love hearing these first impressions stories, reminds me why I own a Tvr.

You rarely get bored of the thrill.
You look to have made a great choice.
The Chimaera/ Griffith page can make alarming reading sometimes but keep in mind people use the site to ask questions usually only when something goes wrong, it gives a slightly false impression. I’m sure there are owners who have barely ever posted on these pages most likely because they have a great and generally reliable car.

As Tvr are not the most documented of cars what might seem like daft questions are all normal when new to TVR ownership. Someone will always offer advice etc.
Good luck and welcome thumbup

^^^^^^^^What he says, plus the most important thing is to drive it regularly.
No car likes to be parked up for weeks on end.
Avoid recently salted roads of you can.

As we are coming up to winter, be careful when there may be ice about, especially roundabouts.

Its always very sad when people post that the rear slid out on a roundabout and its got damage..or worse.

Can I just add that this is NOT because "there is no weight over the rear wheels".
The weight balance on a Chimaera is almost perfect 50/50 front/rear.

The reason is that you are putting a large amount of torque through the rear wheels of a light weight car.
Look at the BHP and torque numbers of performance cars, on most the bhp number is bigger than the torque number.
On a V8 TVR the reverse is true.
It's the torque that makes it such fun to drive, but that also can cause the rear to snap away when the car is provoked in poor road conditions.
Get decent tyres, and drive to the conditions, and never pull sharply out to overtake in the pouring rain without spare underwear in the car.

Anthony‘s last point.

Going to the Griff Growl A few years ago on a damp M40 motorway. I changed down to forth to pass a couple of other TVRs and at 85 the back instantly stepped out . I recovered but I certainly wasn’t expecting that! Good quality new tires on as well.

TVR built amazing looking cars - each model has such a presence it's a real treat to see them on the road (or driveway)smile

With it being Autumn and living by fields the annual rodent migration is underfoot so when I read your post I naturally saw ‘look out for mice’ as that is the main reason for me to not leave a car standing for more than a couple of weeks over winter.

You can imagine my slight confusion when I then read that they wait at roundabouts to jump into your car? rofl

Lattice alloys (slightly bigger diameter than std) are absolutely the best wheels for the griff imo smile

Thanks all. TVR called it Olympic Blue, someone told me it is actually a Vauxhall colour Arden blue i think.

I have just had the drive resurfaced with a very light coloured resin bound finish and choose the colour as it would enhance my car pics smile
