I can fully understand oak frame when the structure is an open front car port style as it looks very nice.
If it is going to be a fully enclosed garage surly oak is an overkill when none of it is visible?

Building is listed so may be easier to get through planning/LBC.If it is going to be a fully enclosed garage surly oak is an overkill when none of it is visible?

Swift oak , I did loads of research and also bought a sunroom from them . The frames are quite crude really but the price was very good . I had to do most of the work myself but im a builder so that's what I was looking for . The doors are an issue , I didn't want open front but you do lose the effect of oak frame hanging the doors as I have . The frame is still moving after three years and the doors need adjusting again . A roller door behind the frame might be a better option but I think they look awful. I still haven't finished the internals as I want but I needed to move on other parts of the project but I will get to it and keep improving and modifying it as and when I can .
