Well, the call came in for a bit of help to lift the body onto the chassis last night, so I nipped round to help.....

It's not mine, but it is a great project .

As for longest lurker, probably. But on a forum this old there aren't many new questions to be asked.

Would you not chop out the outriggers and reform a new set to match the body?

Not if you wanted the chassis to remain original and unmodified. They'll be hidden under running boards (once I've made some).

Ahh, makes sense! I was scratching my head why they would be left sticking out like that.

Love it!

As I watch my father in law tinkering with a tatty 350i I keep thinking of a project to put a more interesting body onto the TVR chassis and running gear. Looking forward to seeing you get this finished.

Just spotted this on TV. Season 5, episode 5 ‘Mercedes Benz 230SL’ of Car SOS, I’m currently self isolation binge watching. Features in the section near the end when they give the finished car back to owner.

Fairly sure it was Fuzz's garage in the Fiat 500 episode too. It was in the garage before they took both cars to the show for the reveal.

It's about time for the annual project update... It's getting there... Slowly! It's running, driving and basically all working. Just needs a windscreen and some door handles before it can be MOT'd. There are lots of bits that I'm not happy with (rear wings and seats are the two biggies) but the aim is to get it roadworthy as soon as possible and then keep improving the bits that I know I can do better.

For those who have been holding their breath and waiting for an update... it's basically finished. It's been on the road for a few months and is great fun 😀

Nice job,

I take it that it is classed as a rebody by the DVLA under the 8point rule ?

Like the reg no as well.

nice job, is it ready like this rat look, or are you going for a nice paint?
also, those side windows can you wind them down or electric?

must give a great sound with the TVR V8 base.

Yes, it's a rebody as there are no chassis changes. It's been inspected and OK'd by the DVLA and is now on the logbook as a "TVR Unknown" 🤣
