nice job, is it ready like this rat look, or are you going for a nice paint?
also, those side windows can you wind them down or electric?
must give a great sound with the TVR V8 base.
Thanks 😊 also, those side windows can you wind them down or electric?

Front windows are electric on classic mini mechanisms and actually work a treat. Rear windows lower half way and just have a plastic stick to hold them shut.
I'm going to leave it "rat" for a few years and just drive it and enjoy it. I'll probably paint it one day.
It's running a full catted standard exhaust at the moment. I've just dynamat'd and carpeted it and I can barely hear it inside the car so I think it might have to get noisier soon.

Yes, it's a rebody as there are no chassis changes. It's been inspected and OK'd by the DVLA and is now on the logbook as a "TVR Unknown" ??
The re body thing is quite popular now,The IVA puts a lot of builders off IMO, I am doing a Formosa 120 on a 290s chassis, only a V6 but hoping it should go well enough.

Ooo, I like that a lot. Are the wire wheels original? (I know nothing about older TVRs!)The IVA puts a lot of builders off IMO, I am doing a Formosa 120 on a 290s chassis, only a V6 but hoping it should go well enough.
It's so much easier to do a re-body than to get something old through an iva. It would have been virtually impossible to get my bodyshell and interior compliant without taping bits of foam onto every sharp corner!

They are 16" Aston wires. It's so much easier to do a re-body than to get something old through an iva. It would have been virtually impossible to get my bodyshell and interior compliant without taping bits of foam onto every sharp corner!
Not original they are fitted on adaptors, I actually had to lower the car as it sat too high on them.
And yes IVA is ok if you are building with all new stuff, anything second hand is a no no apart from one rebuilt component (usually the engine)
I gave up on building a GT40 a few years ago purely due to the cost and not having receipts for everything new, sold it as a project and it still hasn't been completed.
