Great roads over here in Herefordshire and very few cameras. You could come across the cotswolds, Worcestershire, do the Herefordshire black and white trail, then off to Rhayader and west Wales, then head down Pembrokeshire and Tenby. Or head to Brecon, Llandovery, Carmarthen, then Tenby and up the Welsh coast.
I too have vague plans for a long weekend trip to Wales with two friends and our wives.......who all share the same Christian name and who, despite us three being good friends, have never actually met each other.
If we weren't TVR owners we wouldn't get a word in edgeways all weekend
So any road recommendations and hotel/BnB recommendations will be well received
Hay on Wye, Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia have all come to mind, but some quieter roads would also be a good idea.

Snap! although mine were real Police.Heading out to Anglesey back when the foot 'n mouth epidemic was in full flight, Wales was swarming with Ministry of Agriculture blokes in yellow jackets. Didn't realise these two were Police till too late
