Isn't it the case that GMD only built the one prototype, which isn't road legal. And there it is, pristine, and sitting behind glass, so it hasn't exactly been tested to destruction. Neither have any other prototypes, because there aren't any. Therefore production of a car to go on sale is just as far away as ever.

Please do not tell the deposit holders, they get a bit cranky about this sort of factual information negativity smile

Why isn't it road legal? Why can't it be registered? An SVA must be a piece of cake.

Exactly, I am of the opinion that the whole project has been mothballed. And I think it is virtually over unless they get some serious financial backing from somewhere and I just can not see that happening.

Do they have any costs at the moment with nothing happening? No employees, interest on loans? No factory, no PR, no advertising?

What dictates when or if they actually pull the plug?

Often in a business it’s when the banks stop the cash flow and the company can’t pay the wages but presumably there’s very little cash flow at the moment anyway?

In this case would it be the welsh government pulling the loan and factory because enough other funding hasn’t been found?

Deposit holders are being mentioned on here quite often. Surely the customers are the people who have paid their deposits. It will be the Company who are the deposit holders.

I wonder what the total customer deposits amount to and whether that is shown as an item in the Company accounts.

IIRC the loan interest is rolled-up, so it is a non-cash item. The interesting part will be how the latest accounts (when they're filed) address the going concern assumption.

They’ve got to be filed soonish... it’s over 12 months since the last ones.

So why the delay now on refurbing the factory? Its months since the contractor was agreed. frown

They filed the last ones early. The next ones have to be filed by 31st December.

It is unlikely the Welsh government will go ahead until TVR can demonstrate they've got the additional financing in place to proceed to actually fit out the factory and start building cars. The lack of movement suggests TVR cannot yet demonstrate that.

Or maybe it's underway and quietly happening without having been publicised?

I think someone would have noticed. And I also think NewCo would have been shouting it from the rooftops.

This has probably already been discussed (sorry if so).

Would it now be wise for customers who have paid deposits, to ask for them to be returned?

Those who paid by credit card might be OK (unless there is a time limit for that financial protection), but delay after delay is usually not a good sign for businesses. Presumably the due date for the Welsh loan repayment, will be of particular significance.

It has been discussed.

Those of us without deposits down (and no intention of doing so) were vilified as just stirrers on this thread.

Those who had deposits and have got a bit wobbly seem to have pulled them quietly (LE deposits now available)

Those hardcore deposits either don't care about losing their money or see my first point above.

That's it in a nutshell. hehe

They will be offered a free weekend stay for two in a country club/hotel of their choice within a 5 mile radius of Griffith House when the whole thing goes belly up.

Not bad for £2.5k.

Those who paid £5k get two weekends.
