I think you already have one Richard, but the obvious answer for anyone else is below.

Many TVR owners have made the step, and you might only need to spend about half of the 90k to get a beauty.

Such car, with this supercharger makes it more alive and whole.
I believe 575hp in the 4.3 and 600hp in the later 4.7

Just buy a 12c. That will feel pedestrian in comparison, even with 600hp.

Feels a lot like nothing will ever come of it now, and the moment has passed. Scared to phone and see about getting my deposit back, I half expect nobody to answer the call and have images of a single phone ringing in a dusty and deserted office space.
It's easy to do. I emailed them and got the deposit back in about 2 weeks. No fuss.

They did want to know why I cancelled for interest, so I told them.

Cancelled a couple of months back.

God I feel old; there's a review on YouTube of the 12C titled "Vintage Review"!

That's the part i totally don't get and i heard it more than once. It seems so surreal. They're either totally detached or have already given up. Why are they even asking why people are cancelling ?

If they are following their usual 3-month interval between updates and counting from the last one with the announcement of the refurbishment-decision, another one is due soon.

I will cancel my deposit if i haven't heard from them by end of this month. Still would prefer to get the car, though.

If genuine progress is apparent, i.e. work on the factory is actually underway, I'd still be interested, but wouldn't put any money in until cars started to appear. The trust has gone I'm afraid.
The ‘factory’ is a smoke screen - you don’t need it to create a handful of road going prototypes for testing/durability.
Even if they had a factory today - what would they build? - because there’s nothing that’s been developed
,tested and ready for production.
The lack of a factory is doing them a favour in reality - as you they would have staff standing around with nothing to do - which is very expensive.

So here’s a question - what would all you ex-deposit holders do if there was an announcement on Tuesday from Les/TVR to say that finance had been secured, all obstacles had been overcome and that production would unequivocally, undoubtedly 100% start on 1st March 2020? Would you dive back in or would you sit back and see what happened?
I’d hold on in there, if there’s a real update with actual progress, and what looks like a realistic prospect of it happening.

Going to give it till end of next month, just so I hit the 2 year deposit milestone, then ahm oot.

They were testing years ago on a track, then even that stopped. I was never sure the link between having the welsh factory and being able to test prototypes etc. I imagined it was to do it being some kind of milestone to secure more funding.

Good luck. I got my deposit back last week. With a front end like a Carp it just didn't do it for me. I will stick with the old Griff and live in the past .

It seems to be par for the course that there’s no dialogue with deposit holders when asking for deposit back. So could it be the penny just hasn’t dropped that it’s lack of comms that’s the major factor and that whoever administers the deposits has zero ownership of what they’re doing and so missing out on a vital conversation that could make a leaving deposit holder reconsider?
However we have to assume they know what they’re doing and that there is nothing to say and no privy information to keep people on the list.

I find all this incredibly sad as this was the last chance for a new car called a TVR

Really?

I think they are the definition of bungling amateurism.

At least Bernie Madoff kept his investors feeling warm. laugh

You think those holding the share capital are not informed then?
Or are you confusing customer deposit holders with bona fide investors...
And, yes, I would prefer to see more info but can also see why that might not be happening.

Give it a rest fella. Whatever professional services you have commissioned and were then apparently surprised by the cost of were nothing to do with me.
