What an appalling update (if it can even be called that, as no update has actually even been provided).

Not to worry though, as they are going to give deposit holders shares (no doubt class b whereby no right to vote or dividends) in a company making no money or actually no product as yet.

Sorry, but this is doomed and 'updates' like this are taking the proverbial....

My concern would be to deposit holders, as whilst people have stated these are safe, I am not convinced they would be should the company enter liquidation/administration, as think these people will argue to the contrary and use these funds to pay thier fees.

The majority would have gone via the club deposit route at 2.5k. So in reality, on 90k car I’d imagine they’re expecting most to write it off.

What they are saying is they literally cannot get an investor.

The fit out thing is dog shyte. They need a flat floor and toilet like Koenig. It’s a hand built car ffs.

Aye Glennie boy, but he is in the “united of states” known as America biggrin

You get a wee light beer over there.
Nah. We laugh in the face of your pansy assed British beers like Theakston's Old Peculier. We drink this stuff.

I enjoy an IPA with a hint of citrus like Mad Anthony or Mad Hatter. Although Budweiser, Miller, Coors etc.. dominate the market here there are some cracking craft beers out there. In Indiana alone there are more than 150 craft breweries. (Dogfish head 120 is generally best avoided unless you want a nasty hangover).

I was back in the UK for a couple of weeks earlier this month and I must admit it was nice to get a proper pint of bitter although I wasn't near a Black Sheep pub unfortunately. beer

It takes some effort to write so much without actually giving any information. At least it acknowledges they need more money.
this ^^^

A lot of hot air, with no facts, or even any asspirations of timings or gateways!

If you want to build and sell a sports car, it needs developing, so where is that development happening? There are a million sign off and certification hoops to jump through, and yet there is no mention of any actual engineering going on, just that they have nominally appointed someone to jazz the factory building up a bit.

And of course, the hybrid stuff is nonsense too. To build a hybrid you need to be able to package the motor, inverter, and critically the batteries, pray do tell where in the current design the batteries will go????

Interesting update from Les. Written to be empathetic toward deposit holders and offering them a likely worthless carrot.
Admission that funding is an issue and some seemingly bullst suggestion that TVR are the ones turning down investors.
Again blaming factory delays on others.
Surprise surprise Ford have hybrid options.
No mention of ugly stick styling.
Nothing to suggest when cars might be built/delivered/tested/etc
I still want them to succeed but this update tells us nothing ‘directional’.

I hate to be negative, but the writing is truly on the wall for this venture, this latest update is just absolute tripe.

This is never going to happen is it?

TVR effectively died when Peter Wheeler sold up.

People just need to accept that.

Good to see Les has put our minds at rest and eased our concerns over the non-appearance of a car we all want to see.

well, at least some info with no info ;-)

meanwhile at the other side of the pond? Wiesmann the German 'TVR' seems to do a bit better, I guess the price will be as well...maybe 2x a TVR.

autorai said:
As already announced by AutoRAI.nl, Wiesmann is preparing for the unveiling of its new sports car . The new website will go live in September 2019 and the new sports car will also be presented in that month. However, AutoRAI.nl already has a teaser on which the new Wiesmann can be seen, albeit under a cloth. The photo was taken in the 'gecko factory' in Dülmen.

BMW M5 engine
Since March 2016, Wiemann Sports Cars GmbH, as the company is now called, has been in the hands of Roheen Berry, Managing Director of Contec Global. The new Wiesmann is a completely newly developed car. Reportedly, the model gets a derivative of the S63 power source from the current BMW M5 under the hood. This 4,395 cc large Twin Turbo V8 is good for 600 hp (441 kW) and 750 Nm in the BMW M5. In Competition-spec, this eight-horse even makes it up to 625 horsepower. It is not yet clear how much power the new Wiesmann will get. The starting price of the new Wiesmann is also not yet known.

The factory unit is owned by a private individual (apparently).
The Welsh Government are buying it (allegedly).
The Welsh Government tendered for the factory refurb at a cost of £5m.
The Welsh Government chose their preferred bidder.
Latest update from TVR says - 'we are appointing Jones Brothers (Henllan) in respect of our element of the factory refurbishment and fit-out plans'.
TVR say - 'We understand from Mr Jones that the refurbishment works, repairs to the building itself and fit-out are relatively straightforward'.

Now I'm more confused than ever. confused

What an entirely unprofessional 'update'.

Like someone down the pub playing Billy Big Balls and buying everyone a round to get them to listen to his bullst.

And it's no more a TVR-Rebellion than it is a Motul-Rebellion. The TVR stickers are tiny.

If I had any faith left in this project, then this update would have snuffed it out.

Aye Martin, but that line read in the voice of a Scottish land owner like the late Johnny Noble, just didn’t have the same comedy value using “8-nil”

Awful. Just awful.

Gives remaining deposit holders something to hold on to as they now know TVR haven’t shut up shop - but beyond that? Just terrible.

My Aunt Fanny could do a better job of keeping people on board and updating them and they would have had two years of tea and Eccles cakes by now.

So in summary.

We’ve not got any money.
If we get some, these guys might be working in the factory
We could have more money but are remaining true to our ideals
We might be able to give deposit holders some shares
But we don’t know.
