You're right. Just more empty promises. You'd think by now LE would stop making promises he can't keep especially after naming his last update, "Can silence be golden?".

If this is what new customers can expect after buying the new car, it doesn't bode well if there is an issue with a warranty claim confused
It's probably hypothetical but I would think after everything that has gone on that anyone who even thinks of buying a car from these jokers would need their bumps feeling. They clearly have little clue about what is required to operate in the car business. How could you ever trust them to deliver a quality finished product and then stand behind it? Even with the best, most experienced and accomplished manufacturers there are issues with new cars. Let a lone a start up with zero acumen that is buying in all the ingredients for its half baked cake.

Can you post it, or is it not worth it as nothing of substance was said?

Interesting short video showing what RIMAC are currently going through with their crash testing. Shows how big, and time consuming of an undertaking it is, especially for a low volume startup. And don’t forget, this is with Porsche money (amongst others) and knowhow behind the scenes.

I wonder how far TVR have got with the Griffith? laugh

Well my Cerbera addict husband had the update, which asked that it be kept private. Which amounts to a heap of nothing effectively as it trumpets rewards for deposit holders *including new deposits before the 24th December 2019*.

If I rolled my eyes any harder I would be looking at my own brain.

So any deposits received before 24th December are eligible for the “reward programme”.

There’s valuing loyalty if I’ve read that right. Unless deposit holders have signed NDA’s they can say what they like.

TVR Owners League Table - very sad state of affairs. Apparently the story is that Les convinced Moleskins to sell TVR after an 8 year boy kicked Moleskins in the shin and accused him of killing TVR. Where is that 8yr old boy again?

1) Peter Wheeler (1981 - 2004)
2) Trevor Wilkinson (1947–1962)
3) Martin Lilley (1965 - 1981)
4) Somebody no one remembers (1962 - 1965)
5) Nikolay Smolensky (2004 - 2013)
6) Les Edgar (2013 - Present)

Just a gentle reminder... wink

I'm sure that if there was at last the 'big news' i.e. the promised investor saviour plus a factory refurb start date, a factory fit out start date, pre-production testing start date, hiring staff start date and prototype 2 start date he would have been shouting it from the roof tops and not causing Oohshiny to be looking at her own brain. laugh

Rewarding new deposit holders up to 24th Dec sounds like a desperate attempt to show potential investors a well stocked orders book. I wonder if he promised another update?

I presume that there are no deposit holders NDAs in place? Feel free to post the update if not - what are they going to do if you do? Refuse to supply your car?!? laugh

This.

It makes me laugh that Les seems to think that the deposit holders are some sort of elite secret society. He's now actively trying to create a them and us scenario with a 'please don't tell anyone what's in this latest update'. Like he wants a air of secrecy? Really?

Les, you were (but I suspect never will) trying to build a new TVR. You need all the positive publicity you can get. Not this.

How was your flight to Fuji to watch the latest WEC round? Money well spent?

Boys, there is no NDA and all he did was politely ask it not to be uploaded or shared (but said it with a smile, he mentioned that these things usually make it to PH in a matter of seconds).

So nothing to make a fuss about. Not much in actual news though, except reiteration that they will/want to build it.

I'm a TVR deposit holder and I definitely feel like I'm part of an elite secret society (just one that's nothing to do with TVR!).

I totally applaud him for asking us not to divulge the details of that email, and feel that to be both correct and justified - it's not like anything being released now other than "it's ready" will appease people on this forum, and I suspect even that wouldn't! biggrin

And why's it so personal to you that you feel its "them and us"? it's not like you have any vested interest. And why should every detail of everything he says be made totally public only to be subjected to similar scrutiny of a Boris Johnson policy? Besides if you want to be one of "us" that's pretty simple to rectify biggrin

So frankly I hope other deposit holders don't divulge what has been said either.

As i said, no real news. Takeaway is that they said there would be an update this month and there was. That's something to build upon wink

Yes, if there had been anything positive to report LE would not have asked the DH to keep quiet.

I wonder how many new deposits they will take by Christmas based on the current state of affairs.

Yeah, tricky. Sending this out to current deposit holders won't have much of an impact. Otoh, deposit holders will not decide about the success of this venture (if you subscribe to the idea that it's not already decided).

I absolutely still want it, so as of now i'm holding my feet still until it materializes or i forget i ever placed it. Current other offerings just don't cut it for me.

I'm content to wait now, they've been honest with me when I've spoken with them in the past, and I bought my stop-gap at Easter... which I'm currently adoring. Actually that will be my biggest decision to make, as my stop-gap (V12 Vantage) is proving utterly delicious and not sure I'll be wanting to part... ever!

I too was taught to be cautious, but that has nothing to do with trying to get a start up car company off the ground.

Asking for the contents of an update not to be made public is laughable. I don't feel it's personal, I don't like the Griffith, I wouldn't buy one. And if he wants to gain investment, being secretive is not generally accepted as a good business model.

As MonkeyLegend says, asking for the contents not to be divulged tells us all we need to know anyway.

I wish you well with your deposit. Genuinely, I do. For the rest of us, the saga is already a farce and it is almost like Les couldn't make it any more farcical. Until he astounds us yet again.
