It is happening - they're raising pre-IPO money now
So they’re going to offer TVR to the public now...

"Definition of 'Ipo'

Definition: Initial public offering is the process by which a private company can go public by sale of its stocks to general public. It could be a new, young company or an old company which decides to be listed on an exchange and hence goes public.

Companies can raise equity capital with the help of an IPO by issuing new shares to the public or the existing shareholders can sell their shares to the public without raising any fresh capital.

Description: A company offering its shares to the public is not obliged to repay the capital to public investors.

The company which offers its shares, known as an 'issuer', does so with the help of investment banks. After IPO, the company's shares are traded in an open market. Those shares can be further sold by investors through secondary market trading."

I'm not an accountant. Does this mean TVR have failed to find investment as promised previously and are now hoping this is their saviour?

A cynical person might think the purpose of this is to create a company with value which can be sold on asap allowing the founders to walk away with a few bob in their pockets and a hassle free future...

That's quite a nugget to drop as a first post; presumably after registering to do so.

Able to give any more info please?

Sure - I'm very familiar with the situation (though I don't work for them). Delays have been annoying, absolutely - but now it seems as if the momentum is building to an actual result, since the reveal 2 years ago.

I came on here to assess sentiment amongst the community.

We're a friendly bunch here (stay away from GG), but I would ask what your involvement (or otherwise) is exactly.. What is the purpose of your sentiment assessment, and what forms the basis of your assessment? Genuine questions, as you seem to have appeared from nowhere... Journalist perhaps?

You are on the wrong thread if you want to do that.
Nothing but a handful of people who want it to die on here.

The sentiments can probably be summarised as:
- the lack of info or progress leads many to consider the project ‘at risk’.
- funding, rise of electric cars, brexit etc all considered contributors to the perceived situation.
- styling has always divided opinion (especially the nose).
- the lack of car ‘start up’ experience of the TVR team is a worry.
I don’t speak for anyone, everyone etc but the above are the general themes of this thread but this is a general thread made up of a few deposit holders and many TVR owners/ex owners. Without any real information the thread is all over the place.

While naysayers have taken the stage, there's still an audience. But it's dark in here, so maybe i'm that only person biggrin

This.
Unable to keep to self-imposed time limits for updates, bizarre 'competition' with a helicopter ride, a very sedate design now looking very dated...

I really want TVR to be something again. Its very difficult to see.... Unless getting in bed with INEOS is happening.

Since I posted this last Sunday, not a single post about the "new" car, maybe the thread should be renamed "Let's talk about our old TVR's"...

smile
Lol - its been so long I think we could still talk about the new Griff under that heading still anyway

And I’ll add - gone from ‘bright eyed bushy tailed evangelical TVR fan proud and delighted to be an early deposit holder’ to ‘now bought something else and don’t really care now’ via ‘total frustration and pissed off with the stty treatment of deposit holders’.
