3B. 2 deposits chopped in just before Xmas 2019. Time has moved on and I'm nearing retirement so reigning in spending.

1A on the status/deposit question. However, like with any car purchase it will come down to the test drive, market and my views once (if) the car eventually is available.

No, I like them too, but I've alternative taste as I also love TVR Wedges.....getmecoat
All the best people love Wedges (and also I don't have an issue with the front and don't recall many commenting on it actually at the reveals

Probably because it looks better in the flesh.

2B here.

But if the car does eventually materialise, will certainly go for a test drive, then who knows!

Maybe TVR will even contact ex-depositors when they have something positive to say? (Yes I know that is being very hopeful given the comms so far!)

1 for me, things take time and I work in the industry so can sympathise with their struggles.

Although i'll wait until I can test drive, then let them get the launch editions out of the way and buy from the series production run that follows.

my deposit is here - I'll use this to tow the trailer with my 1991 S on it...

Or if you are really committed to a sporty roadster - how about 0-60 in 1.9?

A little irrelevant compared to the TVR? The truck - completely different type vehicle. However, your S a little closer to the new car wink
The roadster £189K paid up front to even confirm a reservation......
Perhaps Les should have done that - ask for £90K upfront! If course, the £3M from the Welsh government is a little short of the $2B+ Tesla have had plus 20 years free from sales tax etc

The Tesla Cybertruck is longer than a Phantom 8 Extended Wheelbase, I do wonder what that's going to be like in the UK!

Hardly surprising that everywhere is going to pick up on this.

If TVR don’t grasp the initiative and drive the narrative they’ll continue to have it fed to them.

In reality I’m a 4 now.

Jalopnik have a google feed with a similar story.
Ending in ‘ We have reached out to TVR for comment and will update if we hear back‘

Well good luck with that one

The quote from car buzz along the lines of the car looking like a “mish mash of panels” and “nothing flows” is pretty much on the money and is their single biggest problem.

If the car looked like the second coming of the Cerbera or Tuscan we’d all be sat here rubbing our knees in excitement... And we’d gladly wait, and send out the “be patient chaps, the messiahs returning”. But we can’t, it’s just not generating that cerbera feeling, and I suspect deep down even in those who claim to love it, don’t have that feeling.

Have you seen it out and about yet Peter? Is it still kept at the head office near you? Any sign of changes there yet?

One of the deposit holders on Facebook posted this (I hope he won't mind me posting it here).

I received an email today after I contacted TVR about placing my deposit down (after removing it previously due to the uncertainty). I said I would only put it back down if I knew when I was likely to receive a car. I was told earliest delivery would be Q1 2022 if I joined the back of the queue on launch editions. Not sure where that places everyone else in earlier slots but thought I’d share some insight from the horses mouth. I chose not to put my deposit down after hearing this, it’s just too far in the future for me.

That’s an interesting update. Was it for an LE version - I assume they now have less than 500 deposit holders.
I suspect that the delivery estimate is finger in the air based on something along these lines:
- assumes they start knocking out a couple per week from a shed in the next 12 months
- assumes factory is fixed up and fitted out and they start to pump out cars in 12 - 15 months time maybe getting to 10 a week after 3 months and slowly building output rate thereafter.
