This wont fill a potential investor with optimism especially coming from a mainstream car magazine that Edgar has already criticised in a previous update on the same subject. PR is clearly not a strong point. rolleyes

"Edgar said TVR is working with the Welsh government to resolve these issues and get the work under way."

And still TVR maintain the blame lies with the Welsh Government despite them saying that until TVR have the necessary investment it wont move forward.

"Until further news is forthcoming, the saga looks likely to run on, and given the time it takes to develop, build and tool a car factory from scratch, don’t expect to see more than the one new Griffith on the road for quite some time."

And accounts due in just over 5 weeks. scratchchin

It’s a rather unfortunate similarity that will do nothing for sales should they ever get the Griff into production.

And, er, um, ok I dunno... oh hang on, I think I’ve got it biggrin one of them is one of those GT86 thingys.. am I right? Am I? They all look the fecking same to me... are they the new Fiat 500’s ? This is all very confusing.. anyhoo, they’re both bloody hideous monstrosities, I mean who would buy something so lacking in style, beauty, and raw sex appeal... Its a Supra, Baconsarney. rolleyes Or a Z4 depending on which dealership you are in. wink

Its a joint collaboration while they research hydrogen fuel cells and electrickery. You know, for the future which is doomed from 2032. eek

I don't think 90% of PHers would want the new Griffith. It's too ugly. And that's part of the problem too. If we petrol heads don't want to buy it, then even less of the general public will.

This^^^^^^

I've seen it in the flesh and sat in it (at Beaulieu) am a die hard TVR fan and I don't want onefrown For the money I'd rather a 991 GTS for everyday or there is this for the weekend sirsmilehttps://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

In fact I wish this would just quietly die quickly now it is doing nothing for the reputation of TVR other than making it a laughing stock.

Agreed... I still can’t comprehend how, after a succession of stunning looking TVR’s, ‘new’ Griffith fell so far short in the wow department ... personal opinion only but I think I have quite good taste in cars and the unveiling left me with a simple WTF......

Me too. Sagaris wasn't for everyone, and there were flaws. But ugly it wasn't. Neither were the Tamora, T350, Tuscan, etc.

Just looking again at the rear end shot of the Griffith and it looks a mess. Looks like a lady hitching up her long evening gown to avoid standing on it while she is walking.

That plus the gawping front end yikes

It's also a mark of just how far in terms of aggressive styling and surfacing the OE's have come in the last 15 years!

Back in the day, the average mainstream sports car was a pretty tame thing really. Today, with aggresively styled cars like the new Supra routinely released by the big manufacturers it's simply a lot harder for TVR to provide the "shock and awe" factor............
