Not sure if this has been mentioned already due to borked search and double posts discouraging any attempt to check, but apparently Le Mans will be a last hurrah for Rebellion... https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Apologies if a pearoast
Rebellion say it’s their last Le Mans every few years......
It will be now that Peugeot are taking them over.

With Covus19 going on, a dying planet, war in most corners of the world, economies about to collapse, inept governments, and an inevitable apocalypse looming, new TVR is a joke. I’m digging in.. stocking up on dried and tinned goods, bottled water, firewood, and, I’ve just made another 100 bolts for the crossbow and sharpened the katana... again.

Oh, and today is my birthday...

I’m seriously considering becoming a soldier of God..

God bless you all.

Panic buying is evident. Supermarkets being stripped of antibac hand wash and eBay show an big spike of interest in face masks. Now that’s a business to be in right now

I’m currently working on a virus filter that fits my gimp mask without detracting from it’s obvious and highly sought after bisexual appeal. Pm me if interested.

Also an annoying girl who may get her dream this year, simultaneously making her redundant.

Always a silver lining

Not pretty, but then again, little reason for joy with regards to the stock market these days in general.

This guy nails it:

"Is this the most badly botched flotation in stock market history? I suspect there are worse efforts out there, but I’m struggling to think of one."

from: https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/aston-martin-aml...
At the expense of thread drift, that article is interesting. As Rolls Royce really do understand, selling luxury cars has surprisingly little in common with selling cars per se. It was widely predicted at the launch of the Lagonda, for instance, that AM would struggle not because the car was bad but because they had precious little understanding of & experience in selling to the true luxury market.

If Stroll has identified this weakness and set in train a programme to address the issue then the article, far from being awful, is in fact a ray of hope. Raising cash & trying to sell expensive cars is a rinse & repeat failure for AM. Actually fully grasping how to sell luxury cars could be the saviour of the brand - even if it pushes them further out of reach of mortals...

This just popped up on my FB feed and is posted on the TVR FB page

https://businessnewswales.com/plans-submitted-for-...

WTF?!

"Such is the clamour to own one of the new cars, all 500 of the launch edition cars have been pre-sold, with deposits paid." Really...

Why are the plans so late in being submitted, wouldn't this be done before any works were commenced on the building itself?

Might be of interest to some but just had the new TVR arrive at my university in a trailer. Why it's here I don't know

Interesting how the article starts with

Plans for TVR to produce its new 200mph Griffith Supercar in Ebbw Vale have moved a step closer

Ok there isn't a problem if people are buying them for screaming around racing circuits

There is a massive problem that in the very near future UK cars will be fitted with speed limiters to prevents drivers breaking speed limits

Mentioning a vehicles top speed in the first sentence of that article is nothing but..................

Do you have design students that might sort the front out for free?

Maybe they’re going to abandon it in the car park.
