While waiting for the next exciting and informative update, I thought I'd take the newly painted car out and take some nice amateurish (aka crappy) photos.

Lovely colour........thumbup

Excuse me? Have a little look at this. Pay particular attention at 2 min 38 secs.

I’ll have you know it averaged 22 mpg on the way back from where I picked it up yesterday. Mostly motorway of course!

As for the naysayers who think the electrics on these give trouble, of course the satnav module doesn’t work!

Failed the MOT this morning, (naturally I bought it without an MOT) on two rusty brake pipes at the rear. Already on the ramp about to be removed and renewed.

Have you been watching too many old Top Gear repeats during lockdown? Did wonder why you'd bought a red Rangie. laugh

Unfortunately that red seems to be a very popular colour!

I may have been guilty of watching Reruns of top gear but I think any red blooded Englishman could be guilty of that!

Just refitted the air suspension, all went to plan apart from the fact it doesn’t work! Waiting for number three son with his upmarket code reader and resetting gizmo to hopefully sort it out.

The joys of shielding, fiddling happiness! wink

By the way, that red Rangie on that top gear special did exceptionally well!
I wouldn’t be surprised if they fitted it with springs before that journey, if they were sensible!

Good luck. Seem to remember from a long time ago that the driver's door has to be either open or closed during the reset or it wont do it. Can't remember now, bloody old age...... rolleyes

No real rush to fix it surely. It's only done 8,000 miles in the last 7.5 years! It would have been cheaper to have called a taxi!

Absolutely not, that's black magic!

Makes me smile looking at that, "off reading" . Our old dog hauler RAV4 could cope with that......

.... and briefly back on topic, TVR Automotive Ltd is no longer a person with significant control of TVR Racing Ltd on the 28th February but announced yesterday.

I have no idea what that means. confused

When will they stop banging on about the tender process causing delays? The worries I see in this latest statement are the mention of £100k (up from the original £90k) and another 2 years before production. The factory will not be repaired until they have the funding in place. So, its all down to money or more accurately, the lack of. Time is rapidly running out TVR.

I was talking to a certain Council in south wales last week, as I need factory space, and they offered me one.

I jokingly said "is it next door to TVR"

Cue - much eye rolling and tutting.

The distinct impression was that TVR are not exactly the easiest to deal with.

My factory will need a bit of work, but I could sign the lease within 12 weeks and be ready to go

It seems clear that building a car from scratch is more difficult and much more expensive that first anticipated by the current owner.

Hence why he is after venture capital and does not want to sell his car collection or golf course to fund it.

If VC fails (again), what next?

Put the lot up for sale ?

Yes but you've probably got the cash and aren't a 'man of smoke'

With Ineos pulling out of Wales (almost certainly and costs of £4-£5m) TVR may be thinking the government will be an easier touch and not wanting to lose more taxpayers money. Probably hoping the £2m (+ interest) loan does not have to be repaid next year when it is due.
