New TVR still under wraps! (Vol. 2)
Discussion
If you are thinking that Les and his team have stalled, even before building a second prototype, then this video might be of interest.
Good to hear the comment, "I didn't want to come to market, until I was sure we had something special".
It appears that Les might have decided to do the opposite. Was that to obtain the cash deposits?

It obviously remains to be seen, whether that MGB business properly starts producing new build cars for sale (they are not conversions).
However, I posted because there is a close parallel with (new) TVR.
The MGB man has built several new prototypes, each of which is more sophisticated. Development appears to be in a planned structured way, to reach the goal of building customer cars. The budget is probably not enormous, but the project seems to have progressed much further than TVR.
Unfortunately for TVR, they just built one car, had a very high profile launch, raised expectations amongst prospective customers, collected deposits, then apart from issuing strangely worded letters, just seem after several years to have achieved no progress whatsoever.
The point of interest therefore, is that there is a direct comparison between these two car businesses.
Looking back, should Les and his team have adopted the 'under promise and over deliver' principle, along the lines of this MGB project?
A Welsh factory with a sophisticated production line is not required for low volume. Example - Aston Marrtin build their very expensive special run models, in a small building at a factory estate in Wellesbourne.

Love that Registration Number..... BD69 GRF (I wonder if that was chosen as a thumb to the nose)
But which of their brands is going to produce it, and which brand is going to be associated with it? Hot Wheels? Matchbox? Dinky? Lie Detector? Captain Pugwash? 4 On The Floor?
At least we know who will be refurbishing the Welsh factory - Bob the Builder is a Mattel brand!

So, without going back over many pages, (who can remember) what/when was the last official update from TVR newco?
I'm seriously considering writing a book about our times... the challenges, the highs, the lows, the cars, the people, and the vegetables. Lets face it, without the vegetables we'd probably all be dead. For those who may be interested, The Veg Rack is still standing, and has been kept well stocked with home grown produce, including onions, spuds, tomatoes, andmarijuana little red courgettes. It is a testament to our stoicism, resolve, and (in some cases) exceptionally high IQ that we are still here in our little corner of socially distanced social media. I firmly believe that we all owe each other a pat on the back for still being here, for supporting each other, for being friends, and for being understanding. Although personally I don't really understand at all. More importantly though, I've only seen one Tesla in the last five weeks, and that can only be a good thing. The fact it was doing what must have been 100mph 2 metres off the back bumper of a Golf R is even better. Both the spawn of the devil.. Sometimes you can find a reason to believe in God.
In other news, many of you may know that Mac has recently bought a McLaren. Jammy fking brummie bd.
Well that's it from me for now.... I hope you all have a great evening... this has been a good conversation.. (said in Japanese accent from film the last Samurai)
Yeah I bet you all did it too

The last 'update' as such was in TVRCC News on the 2nd March 2020 - planning application.https://www.tvr-car-club.co.uk/news/tvr-factory-ne...
On 24th July 2020 Steve Cropley did an article on the new car in Autocar which mentions electricity:
"For the longer term, TVR has already begun making plans to adapt Ford’s hybrid technology to its future models and says that it could even equip the Griffith as such, although there are no present plans to do so.
“We would be crazy not to be working on an electrification strategy,” said Berriman. “We want to avoid any accusation of being dinosaurs who only want to make cars with big V8s. Our aim for the future is to create a sustainable, multi-model business, and that very much includes electrification.”
https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/tvr-re...
And I did read somewhere that Edgar said all new updates would be released through the club. So far there is the Avon tyres discount - 3rd September 2020 - and a tie up with Motul on the 2nd October 2020.
The last entry in Facebook is dated 2nd March 2020.
Even a global mass manufacturer will be thinking twice about launching new models in the current climate. Never mind a company that doesn't seem to have made any progress for nearly three years.
When Boris gets his P45 he can get a job writing press releases for Les. His promise/delivery ratio is perfectly suited to the role
Wanabe British car manufacturers.
Following my link to the man developing an electric MGB, I have now stumbled across another man with dreams.
This is even closer to the TVR venture, because it revives a famous name, Connaught and has also struggled to raise money.
The MGB man had a modern industrial unit, but the Connaught premises look only marginally better than the present state of the TVR building.
Their first car is built and is to use a self developed (original TVR link again) narrow V10 Hybrid 2 litre engine.
What do you think ?
