As a very infrequent contributor to this thread (I have no deposit down, nor would be likely to ever afford the car in my remnant lifetime) I'd like to wish everyone as good a christmas as possible.
I sincerely hope that those of you who DO have a deposit placed- finally get the long awaited christmas present you deserve next year (or the one after, in case Mr Jones has a couple more issues)

I wish you all well

I know it’s a few days early but thought I’d get the ball rolling... so, I wanted to wish all of you lot who’ve stuck with this (now) ridiculous lost cause (fingers still crossed though) thread a great Christmas. That said, feck Christmas, I’d rather you had a miserable Christmas but were still here next year and beyond to continue our often meaningless and obscure ramblings.. despite often being wildly off topic I’ve enjoyed all the exchanges, and although many of us have never met, you are (get the tissues out) like a good bunch of mates. Clearly there are a few exceptions to this, but, this is the season of goodwill to all men and accordingly we won’t be mentioning names. Yet.

So, have a great festive season everyone, drink lots, but above all be safe....

Happy Christmas everyone and stay safe.

See you all on the other side.

I might start up my SEAC on Christmas day .. just to wake the neighbourhood.

It might cheer them up an all thumbup

I’ve not heard a V8 rumble for ages then yesterday in the distance whilst walking the dog the unforgettable sound of an RV8, It’s a Range Rover 4.6 Thor I think as I’ve seen and heard it once before and really lovely, really expensive tail boxes,, sounded great and I honestly felt better afterwards after just hearing it. It’s very quiet out so a joyful sound to a petrolhead. I thought too myself it’s really the only european engine that sounds like an American classic V8 and just as basic thumbup

We are lucky to own them.
Merry Christmas chaps.
Tvr forever biggrin

I don’t know about you but with all the hell going on outside having a Tvr which is such a simple toy really is something fantastic to look forward too.
Some say they are toys when I say they represent a bit of soul. When the souls of so many are being lost just having one seems a privilege. I think we will all appreciate these things a bit more if we can just get through this and see the sun on the other side, roof off obviously we are Tvr men.
I might even Don my Tvr branded cap rofl
Seasons greetings to one and all.

So back to TVR:-

Is there ANYONE reading this thread that STILL has a deposit down and honestly thinks the car is going to go into production?

Any day now there should be a Xmas message from TVR via a secret update for the deposit holders. It will reassure them that all is well and the money is rolling in. It will explain that all the delays are nothing to do with TVR and coupled with Brexit and Covid and the Welsh Government, it has been a difficult year. Merry Xmas.

Do I detect a small element of cynicism in there Iain biggrin

Maybe a teeny bit. laugh

I'm no businessman but I'd have thought that when launching a new company it would be imperative to keep in touch with former and existing customers and fans to promote the business. Especially when you have £5k or £2.5k of their money sitting idly in your account for years.

I wonder how many of the 'TVR dealers' on the TVR website are still actually supporting this venture. Powers is not on the list, Neil Garner has moved on apparently (although still showing on TVR) and Racing Green parts are no longer 'genuine'. Wonder if Racing Green are still officially approved? And no dealer in Scotland although there is one in Japan and several on the continent. For now.

They have the ‘dealers’ by the balls. Multiple griff orders each and no way to get their money back.

Yes safe Christmas to all. I'm intending to go to the office Thursday morning in the SEAC so definitely will be waking the neighbours..... I might even try and find five friends to go to the pub with, us being tier 1 here in Herefordshire....

Cheers.

Tier 1! Our village has been lumped in to tier4. I only know one person that has had COVID.......

Ah well, lucky I’ve bought another cheapy project car to keep me off the streets, (as I can’t do much in tier 4).

And.

Merry Christmas to all you guys. Especially those that have diligently kept this thread running. The latest info as it materialises, (ha) and even those that have kept us entertained by cleverly going off topic to keep people’s interest. wink

As for Covid, its been rife here. Went to the Vauxhall independent today to get a case of Dexos 2 oil only to find most staff not there. All down with the bug. yikes

You asked.

My fourth MK1 vRS bought for mostly track days.

Stage 2 tuning complete so 230+ horses.

Just about to change the front subframe, rack, hubs and suspension arms from a Cupra R, (quicker steering) plus 101 other mods, repairs and upgrades.

Thoroughly enjoying it and keeps me occupied.

Pressure washed the underside prior to starting work.

Is this the next trackday car then. Cheap fun if it is smile
I’ve got a spare splitter for one of those as that looks suspiciously like the Seat Cupra one I bought on a whim for my Chim.

Yes Alun, a cheap track day car.

It is no 400 BHP TVR but still great fun. Luckily I kept the spare set of wheels and track tyres from my last one.

It already has the Cupra R front splitter fitted.

New front end is going in today. You some friend has cast alloy lower suspension arms.
