So Bristol Cars are back after an 11 year absence.
Question is who’s going to produce a customer car first!
Well what will happen is there will be a thread on the forum "New Bristol still under wraps". That will go on for about 3 years. Then there will be a part 2 to that thread for another 2 years then we'll stop travelling by car because someone will have invented teleportation

According to Autocar, "the new Bristol Cars will initially launch "remastered" versions of historic cars on a build-to-order basis, including the 411, Fighter and Speedster. Each will use a 6.4-litre Chrysler Hemi V8 with a raft of suspension, electrical and interior modernisation tweaks. In keeping with their modernised underpinnings - and likely performance boost - each will be given a mild facelift ".

That's similar to what I think Newco should do with updated versions of the S, Chimaera and Griffith. But building only to order doesn't seem viable - they would need to build in volume to keep the prices reasonable. Bristol's "prices starting from £495,000 before taxes" is unlikely to attract many new owners.

May be something, may be nothing, but a ‘dealing’ with the title of the greater part of the old Tech Board site has just this afternoon been lodged with the Land Registry for registration. No more detail of the nature of the dealing seen.
Any idea or educated guess what this might mean? smile
No smile

Except to say I believe (as customary) the obit is premature.

Of the two I would say Mcclaren.

Fair enough. For what it's worth I have never said this venture will fail. I've been highly critical of 'the management' but based on the statements made by Newco after the CBILS loan I think they will go ahead regardless of the failed Audacia issue.

Go ahead with what? No money is no money....... The only thing they could "go ahead" with is continued hot air and promises

Releasing promises to deposit holders and the TVRCC is one thing. Making statements that they know to be false or do not believe to be true to fund a CBILS loan is another thing altogether. So, if we accept that 'no money is no money' then this statement (British Business Bank) must leave them and the British Business Bank open to investigation by the National Audit Office and possibly other financial regulators.

"Though we’ve endured further delays because of COVID-19, we’re confident we’re now into the final straight to commence manufacturing."

That is a clear statement of intent to manufacture cars (yes I know, we've heard that line before) so they must feel they have sufficient funds - where from I have no idea - to progress?

There were 6 wink now there are only 3, plenty of people lust after a Sagaris I would suggest. What's changed is modern cars have become too clinical and nanny state and my generation (50's just) are willing buyers of drama.

er, that's just whitewash, it is a statement that states precisely nothing.

No timings, no progress report or targets, nothing. the "final straight" is basically words used by people when they want to say something, but actually say nothing. if they were serious, they would say "manufacturing is starting on XX/XX/XXXX and we will build XX cars per week from that point forwards"

‘The final straight before manufacturing?’

That is usually used when the machinery is ordered and about to arrive on site, but here we have the basic building work only recently started (and possibly not even for TVR) and no sign of any progress on employees, type approval, testing or indeed anything at all. Zilcho.

It seems rather than ‘the final straight’ it should be ‘thinking about entering the race but the horse is lame, horse box u/s and the rider has raging haemorrhoids and leprosy.

If you get my drift

In other news my broad beans are really doing well. So well I think they could win prizes. That’s right, these are no ordinary beans. In fact they’re awesome. No, really. I’d post a picture but you’d all get bean envy. And you don’t want that. There’s no cure. Or Vaccine.

If you enter them into a competition, do you think you could do a runner with the prizes?

Or is that a half baked idea?

The idea is only as broad as it is long.

I’d better shut up before you give me one in the kidneys!

Sounds as though they want to do continuaton cars.
Does that mean for their old designs, they could obtain Single Vehicle Approval for each car ordered.

When Aston Martin did a continuation batch of DB5 cars, they had to sell them all as 'track only'. Whether owners can then somehow have them made road legal, I dont know. No modern safety features of course. One of the 'track only' Vulcans now has road legal status. Even so, probably very impractical to drive on the road anyway.
