There is a company building cars in Wales.

Darrian, which evolved from Davrian.
Appear to specialise in rallying.

Would an egg box work better than a cardboard box for a crash structure?

er, water is pretty hard when you hit it at 200 mph!

Modern airframes using stressed skins look like cardboard for the same reason cardboard looks like, er cardboard, because that layout gives the highest specific strength and stiffness!

Not sure there's much to scoff at. I think they've got a very good chance of raising finance.

They're recruiting heavily... https://www.gordonmurraydesign.com/en/careers/gmd-...

Good luck to them!

A10 Tank busters had a fundamental problem smile It had a Gatling gun located in the nose and it didn't vent the spent gases very well , so there were quite a few instances of the nose blowing up and hence crashing yikes
Hence I got involved in computer simulation of gas explosion in aircraft.
The Yanks had some "wonderful" ideas , like Starfighters ejection system sideways.. pilots were killed hitting the wings and another ejection system that ejected downwards , which didn't work too well whilst on the ground smile

To be honest, I did think about it but decided to keep my trap shut.

Best of luck to him as I'm sure he will get the car to production but the rest of the plan
sounds like a step too far.

Proper job descriptions if you follow the links. They have almost 90 employees according to the recent accounts, which surprised me.

I wasn’t suggesting anyone should scoff, but did think this was a likely place to see some. I also wish the venture well.

The difference between GM and LE is that GM already has an operational business with a lot of success and history.

Les just has a golf club and a farm.

Huh that’s not impressive I have a golf club a successful raised bed enterprise, and a long list of distinguished clients. And for those that may doubt (there’s always a few) my golf club is a 9 iron. Never mess with a man who has a 9 iron in his hand. It’s just not worth it. And I’m a great driver too. Bit green with some subjects but I don’t see it as a major handicap. Thank you for listening. Or not.

I got pulled over by the police 30 years ago, at 2AM in the middle of Cumbria.
I had a 9 iron and a putter in the boot, the car was so new the polythene hadn't yet been taken off the seats.
I was struggling to talk my way out of it (although I hadn't done anything wrong) until they realised I supplied some of the unmarked police cars in the area, I was then waved on my way.

A very strange evening!

Anyway, as you were gentlemen

It was the 9 iron, that’s why they waved you on your way. They knew... never mess with a man with a 9 iron. It’s like treading on Superman’s cape. Or calling the Terminator a pussy. Some things you just don’t do.
I have a pussy that is a terminator.

Gardening is absolutely fine as idle fill-in chatter until Rassau reverberates to the sonorous noise of V8 music; cooking and home brewing is fantastic too. Mole control and squirrel re-homing even.

But golf? redcard

Speaking solely on my own behalf I do not play golf. Not playing golf however does not mean you can’t own a 9 iron. Owning a 9 iron has nothing to do with playing golf.

I would have thought a Sandwedge would have been more appropriate for a baconsarney smile
Then you could have made a few chips for tee

You really are getting a fairway off topic now. Someone should flag the thread as on the hole, we now can't see the wood for the trees. If someone could iron out the issues with the project, I'm sure rather than being below par, everything would be back on course for a successful round of funding
