I may be missing somethimg here, but logically it will be easier to convert cars with V6 or V8 as there are 'boxes that will suit the bolt pattern and all the rest of the parts available. If you look at a T car then it will need bespoke adaptor plates at the very least.

It's then a question of which box. I think you would only get a 3 or 4 speed on the V6, but I think there was a 5 speed in the range rover. Tunnel and pedal box will need changing whatever.

Power steering available on the Chimaera and Griffith, so I wonder if that might be the best place to start, only downside for the OP is that the door opener knob/levers are on the centre tunnel, which will be a bit of a faff. Comes with free V8 burble..........

Griffs been done before think there was a write up in sprint about it or it was on here .

Easy enough to just replicate the 'under mirror' buttons with another pair on the dash.

I have a 1972 M series with a rover V8 and an auto box, I bought it as a project a few years ago and have not started on it yet.
