Thanks Anthony, I hope your well.
Can you post up some pictures or links of the catches you are going to use please?
Cheers
Will do re Steve's own mouldings, once it is light and has stopped raining. They are attached to the windscreen surround, and carry the hooks shown below. Can you post up some pictures or links of the catches you are going to use please?
Cheers
The catches, which I will attach to the roof panel, are 18-1204MSBL and the hooks are 02-613MSBL. I have chosen black because of the colour of the roof panel. Website is www.protex.com To give you an idea of scale, the hook is 3cm long, but you won't see most of it, and the catch is 4cm long including the spring element. The border of my roof panel is black, so the black catches won't show up too much.
Here's a photo of the mouldings, in place.
Steve can be reached via www.steve-edwards.com, but I suggest you call him and mention my name as he will remember fitting them to my car. The two allen headed bolts fit into nuts in the gulley at the top of the screen.
Yes, it's not as pretty as the car that came out of the factory, but nor is losing your roof. He can paint the mouldings to match your car interior trim.

Check the fitting of the roof struts periodically guys, bottom nut came off one of mine on the tam net result I lost the targa in the outside lane of the M6 toll last week! An experience I can tell you, it landed 100 meters behind me, in the middle lane and missed all the traffic thankfully. It’s completely fked unfortunately so if anyone has a spare lying around please let me know
Same thing happened to my Tamora when they first came out, but the nut or bolt didn’t even come off, there was a bit of give in the strut and it was enough for the roof to get sucked off. When I stopped I looked back and the struts were still exactly in place.
I didn’t even find the roof.
The dealer wasn’t even surprised and said he’d feed it back to the factory.
I was on the M1, really lucky nobody was hurt. Presumably the roof became airborne and headed off to the side of the motorway and landed in a field or something.
The sudden pressure change in the car was exciting though.
