Surrey Run 2 - Video
Discussion
Lots of excellent footage for the video...around 4 hrs worth. Guess I'll be busy for a little while
I need your pictures, especially any taken en route, of cars, scenery, spectators, other drivers.
Trying to get my footage cleaned up in the audio department (too much wind noise). All 3 cameras have some outstanding video, although we switched Andy's cam to night-vision by mistake, and its monochrome. We'll call it arty
QUESTION: How long do you want the finished movie to be? 20-30 minutes??? I want to include sufficient detail, without it becoming too repetitive and potentially dull.
Please let me know....and please, I need those pics, either post on PH under the other pics post, or email to me, low res. I'll get in touch when I need to get a high res. shot for the movie.
Thanks

I'd try to cut it to 12-15 minutes max - it's always going to be difficult to leave all that footage on the cutting room floor but at this length it will have sustained impact. Longer than this it will be viewed through once only and folks will fast forward to their favourite bits the next time. However this is just my view.

Steve,
I think the length of the first video was about right, however I did have a few problems with loading the end bit - possibly just an old machine although it does have 512 memory. Perhaps a video in 2 10-15 minute (300Mb) parts, split at say the chip break would work. "The TVR Menace Episode 1a and 1b" ?

quote:How are we going to do this...? Where do you live? Don't remember see co-editors on the credits at the cinema though. Get in touch as we'll try to figure something out.
I'd be interested in assisting with the editing process. Is this a possibility?
Cheers, Steve.
quote:Excellent point! It'll be as long as I choose. It'll be done when its done. Any problems with that?!
Remember that the "Director's Cut" is normally released a good 10 years after the original!

I'll get the T-shirts ready for the Premier then . .
I feel we should add "Eye of the Tiger" musci to the soundtrack . . . apparently Sylvester Stallone wants to be in the next one . . . he'll play the guy carrying trays of chips . . who against all odds wins the Formula One World Championship . . .
Hi all,
Definitley recommend Bob's plan of two parts (or more) - good call.
Glad to hear the footage came out well. I was worried about my aim for a bit; most of the time I couldn't see the viewfinder so I had to guess where the camera was pointing. Look forward to seeing the finished effort.
Thanks to all for being so friendly on my first TVR run. Thanks to Andy for some entertaining footage.
Thanks to the guy who's name I forgot, for the T shirts. Big thanks to Steve (N) for the seat. Bigger thanks to the guy delivering chips. Looking forward to the next one. And maybe some Griffs next time?

No steadicam (this time) just very sore arms. All natural suspension!
Do you remember Andy's suction mount at the start? Well, with a little notice I should be able to pick up a model with gyro's, which will result in vibration free viewing and arms that are less sore
Thanks for the T-Shirt Rob, lovely gesture. Sadly I picked up Steve's and left him with the wrong size, so it hasn't been brandished in the open yet. As soon as I can catch up with him...

Don't have a scanner in this office - shall I post you a set of prints?
