There are a lot of posters on this thread that can't accept an opposing view. It would seem that owning a TVR is a prerequisite for an informed opinion too.

Glad I sneaked in at the last minute.
Any pics of your new car to brighten up this thread a bit? wink

Happy to oblige, but I'm currently in a caravan near Brixham. The TVR is at home in the garage. Best I can do for a moment.

And when it ran out of fuel on the way home due to a dodgy fuel gauge...

Nice car. thumbup

It wouldn't have been a proper TVR if it hadn't reminded you what ownership means. wink

I get the impression that Lucy is a professional accountant, because after over 40 years as one myself I am only too well aware that the only people who really understand accounts are......accountants.

As you know Anthony, small limited companies are not required to have their full annual accounts published by Companies House.
When we look at the balance sheet figures which are published, is there any way of estimating turnover and profit?

In this case, as nothing much seems to be happening, I would think it could only relate to apple turnovers and profiteroles.

Thanks for the chuckle, Q Bee.........all the 'top' accountants get fined millions on a regular basis for smoke-screening. It's what they do best to justify the fees !....but often come unstuck.
If 2022 is going to be the year of the new TVR...they sure need to get a wiggle on....staff ? training ? etc etc.
I wish them the best of luck, but I still prefer the older TVR's...... !

It's why I went freelance 30 years ago, after a spell as a finance director.
I had worked for a couple of the big firms before that and realised that I would never thrive in those surroundings.
I am just no good at office politics. I prefer doing the work.
30 years working for myself have been the best 30 years of my career.
And no fines.

And for those who want to know how to divine the profit, when all that is filed is a balance sheet......you can't.
You can guess that the increase or decrease in balance sheet reflects the profit or loss after tax, but that doesn't allow for shareholder dividends etc, so you may be wrong.
Risk assessing companies like credit insurers hate those accounts because they are denied the information to make informed decisions.

LucyP just likes to wind people up with her posts it's almost always negative and designed to elicit a strong response but then that's really what forums are about, it's just an opinion. This was her comment on someone's "fake" wheels. She, he doesn't sit on the fencerofl

The look horrid. So dated. They make a TVR look like the MG RV8. They look even worse on a Chimaera.

I see you have very strong opinions on things, Interesting that you think car x is a better drivers car than car y. Which model of car x did you own? Er, I haven’t actually owned one. Oh, ok, so which model of car x did you drive? Um, I haven’t actually driven one either. Oh, I see. So, er, car y, which model did you own? Ok, I fess up, I haven’t owned or driven one of those either. So, er, how do you form these strong opinions that you have and like to inform others of? So, I read a lot, and listen a lot to people who also haven’t owned or driven any of the cars in question..

So is this forum North Korea now?

What do you think of my wheels? Oh wow, Dear Leader, Mr Kim-Jong Un Sir, they look so amazing (expected answer).

Well Kimmy, they look a bit sh.. and they don't really suit the car (30 years in a Gulag)

If you don't want an opinion, then don't post your wheels on here. Your wheels, your car, your choice, but if you do post, seeking an opinion, then until the UK turns into the DPRK, then expect that there is not just one approved, expected by the state, answer.

Or is it Mr Orwell where only approved "Group-think" is permitted?

Well said Lucy. There are too many usually old men on PH these days that have the view that there is their opinion and the wrong opinion. And nothing is open for debate. Or if you try to defend your opinion, you are a troll. Especially if you can't immediately link to at least five sources to back up your opinion as fact.

If Lucy changed her profile name to Kevin then no one would be offended. It’s ok for a man to dislike your wheels. But a female, that crushes some men.

Lucy, you make a fair point. Feel free to comment.

I wanted 17 inch wheels on my car and don't care one jot if it isn't factory standard.

So here it is in all its glory

The car has a non-standard Range Rover engine, non-TVR cam, 72mm plenum, Emerald ECU and coil packs, roll over hoop, Tuscan seats, Eann Whalley turbo, Racing Red dampers, 325 mm front brakes, Steve Edwards roof and non-standard finish that isn't paint. I love the way it drives and looks and don't care what anyone else thinks. getmecoat

Now I should be drummed out of the club, but as Groucho Marx said, I wouldn't want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member.

LucyP does make some valid points at times and is obviously passionate about the Tvr brand and its future, otherwise why express an opinion? Overall the negative posts remind me of a cracking Scottish beer from the Harviestoun brewery called 'Bitter &Twisted' beer

Again this kinda proves my point. Why personal attacks?

QBee, impressed with the mechanical work you've had done, but Jesus wept that colour looks awful on a Chimaera. Especially on the roof as well.

Luckily, we're not all the same and you love it, which is all that matters.

If you like those wheels on the chimp then that’s fine. But if you seek feedback then I’d vote for ‘meh’.
