Very clever.

When the minerals company arrival was announced, to kick start a new range of TVR battery electrIc models, I was immediately reminded of the Hass Formula One team sponsor.
They were described as a global energy drinks business.
The drinks company owner enjoyed 'the limelight' and obtained (useless) publicity for quite a while, although Hass had difficulty with sponsorship payments and no one could find the energy drinks for sale in any shops.

When their accounts were published, total assets of just £10 were revealed !

The sponsor cancelled the sponsorship before the contract ended, giving the reason as poor on track performance. Really?

Funny you should mention that. I saw a stall today at the Le Mans Classic selling Rich Energy Haas Mugs. I think they were €5 each.

Collectors item?

Nah, didn't think so.

Fresh news from Les Edgar.

'Top shareholder Mr Edgar told The Sunday Telegraph that his firm is, “Just waiting to finalise an investment round before submitting our confirmation statement.”

An existing investor is being waited on to approve fresh funding, he added, “and despite submitting the paperwork some time ago, we only received approval last week. We won’t be announcing the further investment – it’s an existing investor.”

It seems then that everything is going to plan. Production is expected to begin in 2024. - - (Cough, cough.)

More nonsense from TVR then. The confirmation statement requires this:

"On the confirmation statement you must confirm that your basic company information is correct and up to date. This information includes the registered office address, registers, officers, business description (SIC), share capital and shareholders."

Presumably the 'existing shareholder' is Ensorcia but why is there a need to wait? Simply file the statement on the due date. If more investment comes later you can file another statement if you want to, it does not have to be just once a year. It only costs £13 to file it online. Failure to file the statement is a criminal offence. Seems the experienced experts are maybe not so.

Of course, TVR will have informed the few remaining deposit holders of this development....

Well done. A brilliant spot. An eye for minute detail.

I don't expect TVR will ever need to consider quality control at their global manufacturing facility, but you would be just perfect as Director of Quality Control.

The confirmation statement has to be completed with the information as at a date specified by Companies House, so actually anything that hasn't yet happened doesn't go on it. The only possible reason to be holding it is if they are unaware of the date of signature on a document already out for signature at the relevant date and not yet returned.

So the quote in the Telegraph article by TVR is flannel then? To me this is just another empty statement.

TVR has finally completed the confirmation statement today, just 10 weeks late. In keeping with the company's timescales. The adverse publicity in the Telegraph must have woken someone up.

Thanks for that. Good to know it is being used. The guy who bought it from me bought it for his son to drive as a daily. I’m sure he was only about 19 years old! Not sure if he still has it or it is with a new owner.
Saw your old car on Wednesday Peter.

I fail to remember the current owners name, but he told me the following info. He bought the car about 4 years ago from a young guy that raced Ginettas - possible the chap you sold it to. The current owner thinks he might have spoke to you once when he was trying to track down the spare wheel for the car.

The current owner is very fond of the Vixen and currently drives it more often than his Griff, so I don’t think he’s looking to part with it anytime soon…but I did say you could be interested if he ever changed his mind.

The current owner has looked after it very well, and from my quick look I’d say it’s a fine example. He said he’d had the car in with Neil Russel a while back who’d done a number of jobs (fixed petrol leak, poorly closing driver door, upside down shocks, etc).

Anyway, here’s a couple of better pictures for you.

Regards
Andy

Thanks for that Andy.

Great to see that it is in good hands. It really is a beautiful looking car and has stirred something inside.

I believe in my ownership I lost sight of the fact that it was 50 years old and probably expected more from it rather than appreciating that it was a classic of the time.

I spent a lot of time correcting dozens of minor items on it to bring it up to a very good standard. How things have changed when apart from servicing, I've only fitted a phone holder to my Boxster!

Les is presumably waiting for new Astons to be overpriced so he gains sales for his new hand built British sports car.

Lawrence Stroll is rapidly taking Aston Martin up market so TVR will gain all those sales in the £100-150k market. Just need to have a factory, workforce, up to date car and the finance to do it.
Oh, possibly some board level people with car manufacturing experience.
