New TVR still under wraps! (Vol. 3)

A SIGNIFICANT TVR EVENT OCCURRED LAST WEEK.
After 1345 pages and 3 volumes, this topic was relegated into the second division (page) of the TVR forum, for the very first time.
Hundreds of thousands of words have been written about nothing and the whole venture turned out to be just a dream in one man's imagination.
There was a secret ambition by a man called Mr. Edgar, to become Enzo Anselmo Ferrari the second. To build world beating sports cars and be hugely successful. A team of his cars would surprise everyone at the Le Mans 24 hours race. However, a few problems soon became apparent. Not being able to build cars was he first major handicap and the second difficulty was a reluctance to 'invest' [sink] his own money into the project. Other investors saw that the project would never succeed, so without capital to spend on preparing for production, the only alternative was to compose a series of emails and send them to the prospective customers, who had fallen for the sports car story and therefore willingly handed over deposits. In those emails there were descriptions of special founder versions of the TVR Griffith and imaginative tales about many other models that would soon follow, including self-charging battery sports cars powered by fairy dust.
There are now Wanted posters displayed throughout Surrey, seeking the whereabouts of TVR directors. For many months, they have been so quiet, that Church mice are frightened that they might have competition.
A prize has being offered to any people who still have their deposits outstanding, awaiting the delivery of their new TVR Griffith cars.
Being so unbelievably optimistic, is something that should either be recognised, or they should be questioned in preparation for sectioning.
Place your bets on there being a Volume 4.

You may remember that TVR had a short term lease for 6 months for the Wales factory so they could use it as a storeroom. Of course, once you rent a building there is the small issue of business rates to pay to the local council. It seems that TVR may have overlooked this little item what with the company being so busy running this multi-million pound empire. Let us hope that Ensorcia can hand over some cash to prevent an embarrassing problem with, effectively, one of their shareholders (the Welsh Govt) who owns 3%.
The most recent Companies House update for TVR Automotive was to tell us that Ensorcia is a person with significant control but not exceeding 50% and registered in the Cayman Islands. Manufacturing sports cars is so exciting.

After having a lovely dream about a TVR Griffith GTR winning at Le Mans, Uncle Les woke up and looked at some start-up motor industry share charts.
After he recovered from shockitis, he has never issued another email update to TVR deposit holders.
He decided that the best tactic is lye low, head down and hope everyone forgets about the TVR revival.

Warren Buffett likens motor manufacturer stocks to be much like aerospace. In general disaster investments, although he found an exception with BYD.

DVLA record the Date of manufacture: .... 2019
It seems to appear that there must be either some porkies, or more than one TVR Griffith.
One was unveiled at Goodwood in September 2017.

And they are also building buses which is maybe (this is just a guess) a bit more profitable as big cities are pushing for this.

BYD is a bit different, they are historically battery manufacturers, they provide cells for other brand like Tesla.
And they are also building buses which is maybe (this is just a guess) a bit more profitable as big cities are pushing for this.
Indeed.
Some recent figures showed a particular recent time period, during which BYD sold more battery cars than Tesla.
Expect you know that BYD are now serious about the UK market. 1,611 sold Jan to Apr this year (up from 63 in the same period 2023).
I fear a Chinese determination to dominate the world of EVs. They can of course if they wish, subsidise prices until the competitors are knocked out. Remember what happened to the British motor cycle industry. Tricky to apply import tariffs though, because the West exports to China.
