RE: Motorshow: TVR T440R
Discussion
Well, I saw the T4xxR in the flesh yesterday at the motorshow. It looks much better than the photos - I was seriously lusting after one. Luckily I managed to escape with my wallet intact. The only other car at the show that had that effect was the Noble. Let's hope the T400R is going to Le Mans next year!
Well, I've gone and done it, put a deposit down on a T440R at the motorshow today, must confess both the T350C and T400C looked fantastic, T350C appears small and sleek next to the red T400R, but the gold T440R is positively evil. Delivery set at Spring 2004, which gives me a bit of time to work that little bit harder Apparently if you put down the full 10 percent you can have delivery for spring 2003, which suggests it's closer to completion than first thought.

Went to the motor show on saturday and the TVR stand was yet again the highlight of the show. we spent nearly 7 hours there and didn't really get to see everything, its like DisneyLand - you need a couple of days there to do it justice.
anyway... back to the topic in hand and yes the Tuscan R and Tamora Coupe are gorgeous in the metal (for the pedantic amoungst you!). The proportions of the T350C are increadible - so small, wheel in each corner, plenty of interior space and fantastic detail all over. i orginally had problems with the 'cheese-grater' front of the tuscan but over time i grew to love it (the trouble was people just haven't seen things like it before) and now seeing it on the Coupe it really 'fits' the style.
as for the Tuscan R - Oh MY God!!!!! there are precious few words that can sum up the immense presence this car has. Yes i normally hate chrome wheels but they worked with that colour which was a dark grey/black with flashes of gold/green where the light hits. it was spectacular and the interor was beatifully finished. Even the minor changes to the Tamora have made it even more tasty (a car i had difficulty liking at first) and i think that although it will be a shame when the Chimaera and Cerbera die its good to know TVR will still be making cars that not only give us PH's something to lust after but defy convention and take car design further forward.
at the end of the day my girlfriend was dribbling over the T350C and i decided i should have a T440R to park next to it... humm maybe one day!!
(BTW there has to be 2 models of Tuscan R to satisfy FIA rules for Le Mans entry hence T400R and T440R which are £72K and £75K respectivly and they don't expect to sell many T400R's because of it. one of the actual race cars was behind the stand in the coffee area and was an increadable (unfinished) carbon fibre beauty)
i even got to have a quick chat with Ben Samualson who was a very nice chap... also thanks to John Heywood for Racing Green TVR for being a star and spending so much time with us.

Followed red Tuscan R for a couple of miles in Le Mans, sounded fantastic but had a little trouble keeping up in Chimaera. Personaly i love it. TVR certainly stole the show at the NEC. It was the busiest stand in the whole place and did anyone see the tumbleweeds blowing across the Porche stand. Maybe it had something to do with that Top Gear footage of the Tamora vs Boxster S they had on the t.v at the TVR stand. Chimaera S3TAY
