Holy mother. Makes me nervous just looking at it! I wonder what that will sell for… £250k? £300k?

Sierra Cosworth went for £500k, so more? It's the iconic speed 12

I hope you are right, it’s about time TVRs started fetching the money they deserve.

Looks like it Helical Engineering selling it from the video.
IIRC The TR12 was being sold at £1.2m a few years ago , so the original should be more .
Didn't Graham Abbott own it ?

The new owner should bear in mind Peter Wheeler's famous quote after taking it for the first test drive :

"I was wrong. There IS such a thing as too much power".

It's a joy that cars like this were ever made smile Hope it stays in the UK and comes out to play for many people to see it being used. Hope it sells for an absolute fortune too, good luck smile

Fantastic thing. I’m not sure TVR has the brand value to make this mega bucks, but maybe £400-500k in reality? Looking after it can’t be easy. It’d be great if it were much more.

How well does this drive in comparison to other hard core GT1-style things? It would be amazing to see a Catchpole video (or similar) on the car, and assuming it’s great to drive and runs well that would do the publicity and pre-sale value a world of good.

No chance, the TR12 was simply wildly overpriced in the first place - unlikely even the original will fetch anywhere near that. I’m going to say £2-300k range. The reality is that the TVR brand has very limited appeal outside of the UK, and diminishing appeal here too. Perhaps in future the values will rise as people ‘look back’ on them as with other classics, but the Speed Six engined cars(which IMO have the best chance of values increasing) aren’t there yet.

Can't disagree with that. I've seen a '96 Cerbera 4.2 come up for sale twice on auction sites here in the US (eBay and Bring A Trailer), and both times it never got over ~$44,000 and did not meet reserve. By my guess, the owner would have maybe broken even; probably would have lost a few grand.

Definitely not worth it to import them with the aim of flipping them. The market just isn't there for those cars.

A Chimaera will sell for even less here (~$20,000)
