Not seen anything that looks particularly TVRish so far.

Until someone draws something with a pen all cars will look the same.

I don’t think CAD goes back far enough to encompass the shapes of TVR although Toyota curtainly worked it out with the new Supra. That has TVR rip off written allover it, the dimensions too!

Not surprising as it's a Z4 under the skin. See HERE.

So if you want a car that looks like a TVR with Toyota build quality and BMW engineering and performance for under £60K just pop into your local Toyota dealerthumbup

Even though CAS/CAD are essential tools most styling studios still heavily use clay’s to develop cars. CAS can help shortcut, but there is alot of manual / physical craft that goes into the design process. Cars still always start as sketches with pens.

My personal believe is that development programs have been cut to be so incredibly short now, there is no luxury of time to be able to take stock of what is being produced - to be able to ‘sit’ on an idea. There is no time to come back to your creation with fresh eyes. AI won’t fix this. It is already being used heavily by studios ( a recent survey suggest over 50% of studios use it) but it still has to be controlled by a designer. Intelligent it is not. Automated, yes.

And yes, the images posted look very slick but lack any real identity or character.

Stick a powerful electric motor and battery pack in any of these stunners and the company might stand a chance of making a comeback.

Three of the best looking cars ever made!

Yeah I’ve driven one that was a You tubers car with over 750 bhp and just about as much torque.
Fantastic little car if wildly over powered for the grip available.

Kinda sort of.
The dash board is rather boring but the controls are ok to use.
It pops and bangs just like a TVR but I’ll tell you what I’d rather drive the Tamora at work anyday. I just feel like I’m moments away from total disaster in the Supra as it wheel spins at will in any gear at any speed with so much power.
For a pure driver who can get on top of it it’s lethal yet totally absorbing but still feels like you cheated death.
Give me a McLaren at that power and them speeds anyday but for the price one hell of a car. Ours has carbon fibre bonnet wings and winglets literally allover it directing air and the like but it’s not stuck down anything like the Mclarens.
So yeah very much like an old TVR
The power now is so great you have to have wings to stay alive so I’ll order the red TVR with full ground effect and race winglets and spoilers ta boot. PLEASE…. If only

I'm a little surprised to hear that. Presuming it is manual with 320 ish bhp (genuine not TVR fibbing bhp smile ), the Supra weighs 1700 + kg as opposed to a 1100kg Griff 500.

Hmm it’s a great car but the one I’ve driven has been put on air ride suspension and set up very low race car style and rock hard which is fabulous if you happen to be a good race driver but on wet and bumpy roads it’s a very violent car which just makes it dangerous in unsuspecting hands.
It demands respect for sure and like most of these heavy sports cars doesn’t feel heavy on track because generally they have the grip to compensate.
I think a more road focused set up would make the car unbeatable.
Tuned up as the one we have is it’s brutally fast.

We all love it even if we fear it a little!

The Tam feels sedate in comparison.
But if you go from the Supra to the Tam you’ll feel more connected and the only one I’ve driven which is at work felt really sweet and everything felt very natural and I realised just how good the pedal box in these Later cars is to use.
Toe and heeling was really easy and I liked the slightly lower torque curve of a speed six which on tracks at speed actually help you get on the power slightly earlier than Chims etc.
A fast car even if I give longer braking distances and dare not carry the same speed I do in modern cars with big tyres and better handling characteristics.
I prefer the TVR to just feel great in it with its sound and general feel, gearbox is so slick. Clutch not heavy, just a good sports car. But light ! I love that aspect but it can easily catch you out but then some berk in a 25 mph hairpin had me in a McLaren sideways the other day so no car holds the road if conditions are against it!

Ah, yes, if it's been set up for track use, I can see a modern Supra being more unforgiving. smile

lovely, wouldn't say no to that, although for road it needs to get a bit more road clearance.

A lot of the images remind me of the Wiesmann Project Thunderball. Which is no bad thing, a terrific looking car, just a shame that others got there before TVR did
