James bond 00why not a TVR
Discussion
Thanks for that link: it seems that I've forgotten quite a lot of things that I thought I still knew, and didn't know as much as I thought! Best not to go on Mastermind with Bond as a specialist subject then...
Good to see, though, that I'm not the only one who makes mistakes: in the review of the novelisation of The Spy Who Loved Me, the reviewer mentions a Lotus Elise. Not in 1977 it wasn't...!
I'm a bit miffed as well, 'cos I remember most of those novel covers that are shown, and many are now out of print. I had nearly all of them at one point...doh!

cos it would break down as he was getting away and the baddies would catch him within half a mile.

Also Re your thread" I broke down this morning" why do people seem to take a delight in slagging off their cars ? You seem to want to miss out the fact that you are using an eleven year old low volume specialist car during winter! Yes TVRs do break down as do Fords, Jaguars, Aston Martins, Ferrari,Rolls royce etc, etc, etc.

I am baffled as to why you think I take "delight" in slagging off my car. I have re-read my thread but fail to see where I am "slagging it off" when I summarise the faults it has shown and see if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Miss out the fact that I am using an eleven year old low volume specialist car in the winter - I sort of assumed that people reading the forum would be aware how old the cars were (notwithstanding the fact these details are also on my profile) and the fact they are low production etc etc.
it does piss me off when it breaks down. I would be surprised if anyone was overjoyed when anything they own buggers up. But the point is this - I went into buying an eleven year old specialist car with my eyes open knowing it would be used all year round. I could sell it and buy something different - but the joy and character it brings when it is running ok far outweighs the misery when i am trawling back and forward to the garage and am stuck without transport. The fact that i have no plans to change it are testament to that in itself IMHO.
it was a tongue in cheek comment in case that was over your head.

That sounds better, all we want to hear is a more positive attitude which didn't exist in your initial messages.Remember you will want to sell this car one day and if every one is bombarded with blow by blow accounts of the cars minor faults it might just put people, Who don't know better, off.
I read shnozz's posts as saying that the car had let him down, he was a little knarked (understandable) and it was the first time it had happened.... oh, and any ideas on how to fix it.
shnozz has never slated his car, and has openly said that he prefers it to the alternatives... something along the lines of it brings a smile to his face every time he drives it.
To be honest I think it's all down to the way you read the post... sometime it can be difficult to express emotions via text...

Eh? It WAS a reference to OHMSS I thought? Although Tracey should read Tracy.... being short for Teresa. Having said that my daughter is also Tracey; most of the things I call her are shorter too...
