How many Polo drivers out there have heard the words "Can I just say that your car is amazing".

We know on what board TVRs go so thats all that matters

Do you all watch TG while logged on - judging by the times of threads you do.... Unbelievable!

My Polo is very cool and very old...

Has Clarkson got a Merc? Who'd want a car with one of Pat Butcher's earrings on the front of the bonnet?

The guy who said they are cool because they are yellow is my next door neighbour, he spent the day being witty and funny, but as soon as the camera was on him he lost the plot.

read between the lines :-

if you want advice on purchasing cars - watch 5th Gear or Driven.

if you want a laugh on a sunday night to avoid getting depressed about having to go to work in the morning watch JC's Top Gear.....

for instance which other 'reasonably priced' car manufacturers are getting that amount of good publicity?

we all know that TVR's are cool especially in giallo fly so I suggest we keep on 'bringing polo owners down to earth at the lights because they saw on TV that polos are better than TVR's'

I don't think Clarkson got it wrong at all he did what he's been doing for the past 6 weeks - winding up those people who take it just a little bit too seriously. (ref. length of this thread...)

We should all thank the beeb for rescuing us car lovers just in the nick of time.

merry christmas.

Must admit when I am driving my TVR I don't really care what Jerremy Clarkson thinks.Lets face it he thinks Escort "Cossies" are cool.

The thing that surprised me was the implication that TVR drivers are overweight/middle aged! Since when did this happen? There are plenty of PHers in their 20's, and we're all supposed to have hairy chests!

Escort Cossies are cool. I'd have one in my garage.

Me too, Not sure why it's just a Max Muppet Scort but for some unknow reason I have a strange liking for them, Idealy with 18's and twin headlights
If all you other TVR drivers are this miffed at our cars being called un-cool by a gent as untrendy as J-C imagine what a Audi TiTy forum looks like

AndyVG, are you and I the only ones that sense JC's comments as being intended as a wind up!!
I find it difficult to believe so many seem convonced by what he said..

Clarkson is to cool what King Herod was to childminding. He admits he's a gobby wind-up merchant who mouths first and thinks second. Love him/hate him, he's great value and never boring.

Disagree? I got cornered a while back in a beer-fuelled discussion along the lines of "all TVR's are driven by fat middle-aged men, and the MG boys always beat them on track because the cars are so crap". Got huffy at the time, but hang on, the guy was a shrimp, small, weedy, & opinionated, with a massive ego problem. As for the race track thing.... just proves his ignorance. So in hindsight, what he actually meant was "TVR drivers are better off than me, and I'm jealous as FCUK and I'm going to mouth off 'cos I can't face reality".

So TVR uncool. In Jezzers opinion. It's a compliment!

Just proves the saying there is no accounting for taste. It would be a strange world if we all liked the same things

Yep...it would be in the garage with the rest of the cars from my top ten list. Along with Dads old TVR (the white Griff which was the press car at the time) his Chim (which a customer very kindly wrote off) and the Current Black Tuscan.

Funny how he picked on a Tuscan to beat the Gatso a while back!

TVRs are uncool? I guess that's why they picked a Tuscan for the new Bacardi Breezer ad...
