Totally agree, as long as you're honest (and expect to get 3/4 of the book price) people will accept that

You can do this but the only draw back is it will be recorded on HPI as "Accident recorded" once fixed and will seriously effect resale.

Am I being thick here or isn't HPI a hire/purchase contract?

My car doesn't have an HPI contract on it....so how will this effect me?

mmmm a little simple maybe Bandit. HPi is a databese run by Equifax and hold data not only about what finance is against a vehicle but also whether the vehicle has been recorded as stolen or as an insurance loss. - and some other data is also available.

So let me get this right... Equifax will store information on EVERY single car (14million of them)and every accident its involved in - Even if no credit has ever been taken out on the car?

Theres something called the MAIFTR register that records information on cars that have been written off or assigned a CAT A-E catagory, is this the same thing or different?

...Just interested thats all.....

BB - Have you heard anything more about things yet?
Are they going to repair the car? How much have they offered?

Good luck !

Last spoke to Robin at TVRbodyshop on Friday and he was awaiting for the Go ahead from the Inspector of which i Know the Insurance company have Authorised.
I dont know what amount they are going to offer to repair it but from what Jason told me it would have to be around 13k.
I shall call TVRbodyshop again tomorrow as it has been a week.
I know Jason is away at the moment and Robin might want to discuss the Offer amount with Him before starting.
Shall try to give an update tomorrow but things are looking good as i am sure if it wasnt accepted i would of prehaps heard someting by now, maybe, hhmm
deffiantly gonna call tomorrow know.
