I’ve been along to the mid Kent meets for the last few. They are a very friendly bunch I would recommend them, it's held near Leeds castle on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Its only 25 mins from Gravesend, I go from Dartford. Edited by Paul V on Friday 21st September 16:21

Well I’ve only been a few times myself. They have a drink and also meet on 1 Sunday a month in the summer for a drive. They seem to organise trips etc. the latest being a weekend in France. I was going to try the North Kent group but haven’t got around to it yet.

I'll keep my eyes open and give you flash.......9/10 I'd be in a 2000 Freelander work car covered in sh1t and falling apart (52k in less than 18 months) but on the "special" days in a 92 Griff 400 both cars are almost the same shade of dark blue.

Ok may have been going a bit quick that night but 25 mins is possible. If you want someone to follow down next month I could meet you on the way.

I've been involved with the mid kent group for the last 18 months. We are a very friendly group and do organise several trips around. This year members have gone to Zolder, Mania and Back Home. GT's at Castle Combe, sprinting at Lydden etc etc The latest trip being 5 cars (so far) down to Honfleur. Mine being the slowest. There are 2 meeting a month. The 3rd Wednesday at the Windmill PH in Hollingbourne, which is just off the M20 at j8. The first Sunday of the month meetings during the summer were at Charing to enable a drive etc etc to get started a bit earlier than normal. Normally though the meeting point is the Rose and Crown at Perrywood. This really is in the sticks and you will need a map. This may be changing although details have not been confirmed yet. I haven't been for a couple of months due to other commitments so don't know where the progress has got to yet. As for mix of cars I have seen on regular basis - Cerby 4.5 & 4.2 - Griff 500 - 400se (sneaky 4.3BV in it though) 450se (rare indeed this car)- S3, S2 & S1.5. As for numbers of cars we aren't that large compared to some clubs. The group organise trips to france like the Honfleur one at least twice a year. Reims to the old Grand Prix circuit was a favourite. People are very willing to offer advice and assistance on cars. In my case especially if it is a S series ! Hope this all helps and that you do come down and join us. Paul V, I've only managed to be at one meeting when you were there and we didn't speak. Hope we get another chance soon so I can have a look round your car ! Cheers Mark

Sure, I missed this months because of various troubles on the way, so how’s your coming along? Did you sort out the prop shaft problems?

do you lot object to people coming to the meetings that do not own TVR's? I haven't got one, still agonising ... Rgds, WalterU

WalterU, Feel free to come along and gas with us lot anytime. You will certainly want o own one once you spend some time around people that own them. All of the group I'm sure would be willing to let you have a good look round there cars. PaulV, I replaced the prop shaft UJ's with a friend from the club (very helpful as I said) I've now got the Gaz dampers all the way round and the loudest exhaust in the world. Children have been seen to place hands over ears as I pass !! The one thing that is bugging me is a vibration and droning. Tower View checked out the drive and gave it a clean bill of health and the wheel bearings. But its still there and getting worse. I'm puzzled and taking up to my folks at the weekend so my dad and I can try and work it out. I may be at the next Sunday meet but I'm only going to be there briefly as I've got to go to work in the afternoon. Cheers Mark

Could it be the exhaust on the chassis, or has the engine mounts dropped allowing the engine to rest on it? Since refitting my exhaust I have much more vibration, when is the next Sunday meet? Where’s everyone going?

The vibration has remained the same with two different exhausts and so I've ruled that out. Engine mounts are a possibility, one which I will be looking at in more detail at the weekend. The next Sunday meeting is 7/10/01, I believe we will be meeting at the Rose and Crown at Perrywood. As for where everyone is going I don't know. It may well be decided at the time depending on numbers etc or it may be decided before hand. Cheers Mark
