At last weekends Powertour meeting I bumped into Peter Wheeler and took the opportunity to ask if he had ever considered producing a limited run of roadlegal Tuscan Challenge Racecars. In light of the fact that Steve Sutcliffe took his race car around the Nurbergring in 7min 45 in damp conditions and on wet tyres! A roadlegal Tuscan would smash the current 'Production car lap record' held by the Caterham R500 and create some excellent publicity for TVR's products and for the race series. Unfortunately he said 'No there were no plans to produce a Tuscan road racer' but he also speculated that a Tuscan speed 6 roadcar would probably turn in a lap time close to that of the racecar, mmm not sure about that. I guess his decision just gurantees the continued exclusivity of the handful of cars that have already been converted. But it is a shame they will never be officialy produced as they make for balistic roadcars and ideal cars for track day regulars.

It wsould be nice to see one of the companies that converts Tuscans to offer a number of fixed price packages and have a few more cars being converted.

Along the same lines as that i've wondered if there is any mileage in buying in early cerberas, and putting them through an upgrade/reconditioning package and selling them on, As people seem reluctant to buy the early cars due to the development problems they go through... and the oh dont buy one earlier than 199x that everyone tells you..

Thats a shame, an official version would be awesome. plus you would have a warranty too.
