RE: TVR to launch 600bhp supercar
Discussion
Lunacy - a highly tuned SP6 engine when they have so many problem with the standard engine?
There is no way TVR are ready to compete properly in that market segment. I think it will be interesting to see how Noble fairs with the move up to the £70K bracket with the M15 as that is a tough enough challenge - but for TVR to introduce a model £50 - 60k more expensive that usual?!
As said before, they need a Boxster style model to generate a larger customer base and make the brand more acccessable and well known, then they can introduce a halo model to help customers move up through the model line ups over time.
I can't see them finding many willing customers for this unless it really is something special, which is a shame.

Why couldn't they have come up with an affordable everyday sports car, like Lotus have.
It would have boosted production and put loads more business through the dealers.
This is just a pipedream. It may look stunning, as do the current models, but who'd spend this much on a car, when the marque has such a cloud hanging over it?

Before everyone gets carried away, this is a commemorative model for TVR's 60th. anniversary - it doesn't necessarily represent the main model line up - although I imagine if they're lining up models a la Porsche, there will be a Boxster-a-like, and a 911 Turbo-a-like at £100k or so.

A TVR for the same price as a Lambo or Ferrari
and with a straight six engine when the above plus mercedes, audi, aston and BMW all have V engines of either 8 or 12 cylinders in their high peformamce cars.
The post sale rectification department will have to stay in the UK even if manufacturing dosn't
This defies belief. Here we are wondering if any cars will ever be made by TVR again, and they announce an even more expensive cloud-cuckoo top-of-the-range model. To be made where, by whom, and bought by who exactly? More orgasmic living. Do they have to jerk off so publicly?

Sadly this is just further evidence that the decision makers at TVR do not frequent the same earth as the rest of us.
As i recall, it was the little Elise that saved Lotus a few years ago, & the 'S' that saved TVR in the 80's. I suppose we should expect the current management to decide to go the opposite way
In reality, once they've left these shores, as optimistic as we may try & be, it's unlikely any of us will see a new TVR again.

Benno, superb mate.
Seriously, what are they thinking of? If TVR have any future whatsoever, they should be doing what soemone suggested in Sprint magazine this month. And that is to bring out a 2007 version of the S, and I dont neccesarily mean the design but the idea, A £25- 30K affordable sports car. Even if you won the lottery you wouldn't spend £120K on a TVR. MG SV anyone?

Defo, the S cheap with an easily maintained 2.8 ford lump is what brought me to TVR's attention many moons ago.

Since TVR have build so little cars this one will be seen as a addition to the current line-up . . . Am I wrong here?
A 60th anni car could better be a Tusc with a special paint scheme, wheels, exhaust, suspension whatever . . .
Any reference to the original Typhon - or T440 even - make it a weak proposal. Because they were promises who never became reality.
Don't get me wrong here: it would be really great IF TVR managed to get this one right.
