I know we've already had a fairly extensive discussion of this in the thread
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=7453&f=5&h=0&hw=Basingstoke
but since that's on the Tuscan forum I wondered if everyone had seen it.

So, just how many TVRs are there in Basingstoke?

So far I know of the following:
* Mine - Cherry Pearlescent 97R Chimaera 500.
* kinky - S1
* redone - Blue Tuscan
* cockers - dark blue Chimaera 400
* ???? - green Griff 500 (lives opposite cockers)
* MattTav - dark Blue s1 in Chineham
* whatever - green Cerbera 4.5
* don - dark blue Chimaera 450

But what I want to know is - who was the friendly dark blue Griff who gave me a cheery wave this morning on the way in to the Viables Business park?

How about we find out then? Choose a pub and a time a few weeks hence and get as many Basingstoke (and environs) Tivvers to show up as can. Then count! Good for a laugh anyway and will wind up the locals a treat.

Pub: e.g. The Vyne (?) Hannington or the Fox Ellisfield.
Date: e.g. Sunday 14th April.
Time: e.g. 11:30am (before lunch to get parking, admire the beasts etc)

We could even meet up in the Spruce Goose car park a bit earlier (e.g. 11:00am) and then drive over there by whatever roundabout (B'Stoke - groan ) route we can devise!

Cool. Come on the rest of you. Register interest and pub preference. I'll contact whichever pub and let 'em know they'll have an early influx of hungry petrolheads.

How about a 'possible' attendance from someone outside? I'm not far from Boringstoke.

Why not give this a couple of days to gather interest. If enough peple want to go (we only *need* a few! but the more the merrier).

14th April. Start point and time TBC. Pub TBC. All suggestions welcome....although to get this off the ground is it OK after a straw poll if I decide?

I'm happy to do the phone calls to the pub to make sure their going to be open...doing food etc and can confirm back on this thread.

Might be fun to arrange a short drive first too. If we went out to Ellisfield we could take in some country lanes and go rumbling thourgh some (vaguely) picturesque Hampshire villages first! (Low revs of course....)

Go for it Don.

As a starter for 10 on the drive may I suggest A32? to Alton, through Alton down A32 until just south then a left towards Steep/Petersfield. Nice long clear straight for a bit of a blat with the Trooper pub at the end. Into Petersfield to scare a few locals then another route back to Alton/Basingstoke?

I'm just off for a week now so will no doubt catch up with all this on my return.

Sounds like a laugh, and I should meet some new faces. As I am in Farnborough I am sure it is close enough for me to be able to make it, assuming my car is back from its service by then that is.

Righty. I'm off out this weekend to enjoy the sunshine and check out a route/pub etc. I notice that the Basingstoke-Alton A339 run made into Tiff Needell's best British roads thing in Autocar. So that's a must.

I take it everyone would like a drive prior to lunch?
