Mike,

Yeah - not bad. I left it with them for a week and told them to sort the window, do the tracking, install some speakers, look at the chassis work I had done and 'look it over and advise' essentially giving them a carte blanche to do whatever they wanted (although I did ask them to call me first!). Normally this gives your average mechanic a license to print money

They found nothing! He decided the window needed a new regulator, but didn't order or replace it - clearly the 2mm gap at the back is not worth worrying about! At £160 for a new regulator I tend to agree. He said the chassis was 'fine' - thank God. The speakers are well installed and he even wired them up for me. The positioning is not perfect, but they sound absolutely fine. £98 to you sir.

In conclusion. I gave the man permission to fleece me blind. He didn't. The work that he did do seems sound enough, and I like the 'small mechanic' mentality of the place. And - of course, he was very friendly and honest. I'll be going back.

They've got me as well as a customer then after that recommendation.

Give yourself a good pat on the back and a pint at your local for all your chassis work then ...

£98? You mean under THREE figures ... sure they didn't leave a nought off ... no hang on, they're an independent – £98 sounds good!
