Hi,
Im getting some new tyres all round for my 96 4.0 Chimaera and i want either Bridgestone SO3's or Toyo. there is about £100 difference in the price so im not sure? I have always used Bridgestone's and Goodyear's so im a bit aprehensive about the Toyo's
Any advice would be greatful....thanks

I took the Toyos and I have no complaints whatsoever- heard all the scare stories about they are poo in the wet blah blah but I have had no problems - great grip and no problems up to 175mph so I condone them.

Its worth double checking, but I don't think the Toyo's are Z rated for the standard size 15" front wheel. I am on my 2nd set on my everyday wagon and they are great, but this put me off getting them for the Chimaera. Let me know what you go for as new tyres are now looking imminant!

Well, i am gettin some nice 17's all round with 235/40/17's on the back, and 215/45/17's on the front.
about £630 for the So3's, and about £515 for the Toyo's
So maybe i should take the plunge with the Toyo's?

I've just got some s03's for the Griff on the standard 15" front rims and I think they are very good. However you are putting 17" rims on so I think you may have a problem. Other people (Apache for one ) have 17" rims and tried s03's and did not like them as the car we more prone to tramlining and other stuff (cannot remember the exact details), I believe a change to Toyos sorted this out. The reason behind this is sidewall stiffness, the s03 has a harder sidewall which is great on a 15" alloy as it improves the feel but crap on a 17", the Toyo has a softer sidewall and so is more suitable for the bigger rim. Well thats what I was told anyway.
So go for the toyo.
