Just had the dreaded 12k service completed on my chimp by TVR Power and was well impressed with service they provided. Extremely friendly. Very helpful. Discussed problems with car and LISTENED to what I had to say. After the services were completed, they showed me all the parts that had been changed. All of the numerous problems rectified within a week. Didn’t fob me off “with they all do that sir” Car washed and polished. Contacted me to get my authorisation before changing any parts. Genuine enthusiasm for the Marques. Talked me through the breakdown of the bill. All TVR after sale’s should be this way!!!

I guess I should put this into context; I previously had my car serviced by a certain Birmingham based dealer. On the two occasions that they had serviced the car it came back with more problems than it went in with, I found them to be rude and very unhelpful. I ‘d complained to them on numerous occasions about a knocking noise coming from the gearbox. Their response was that this was not usual. When I took it in to TVR Power, they established that there was a problem took the gearbox out, replaced the gear linkage, as it was worn and replaced the clutch plate as the spring were knackered. This completely solved the problem. Also I had complained of lump tick-over and cold start problems. This was because the timing had been set incorrectly. In my opinion the so-called reliability problem with TVR is down to, substandard servicing and workmanship. £500 + is a lot of cash to fork out for a car service, the least you would expect is to treated with some courtesy. I will certainly use TVR Power again and strongley recommend them. At the moment TVR Power do not supply a courtesy car, but I believe that they are considering getting one. The standard 12k service is around £500 mark, They had the car for a week.
