Hello all Just thought I'd pass on my latest TVRtastic expierience as a warning to other wedgies. Travelling home the other night down a bumpy road there was a loud bang and the car slewed to the right. I managed to stop without hitting anything, but when I looked underneath I found that the bottom balljoint had pulled out of it's cup entirely! If this had happened at speed rather than 25mph then I'd probably be lucky to be typing this without headswitches. Admittedly the joint was the original one and at 125K miles and 15 years was probably entitled to retirement, it was certainly rusted to b~ggery which was why it'd failed but I'm now in the process of replacing all the joints and fitting new front springs. If your're balljoint is riveted on it's original and it may well be prudent to change it. By the way there was no slop in this one (well before it flew apart) and no impending warning. Although the steering is now lighter and it tends to handle better as well.
